Chris Harrison surprised Kaitlyn Bristowe with the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ news

On June 15, 2020, Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette was featured on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! After watching back highlights from her season, host Chris Harrison joined Bristowe and her boyfriend, Jason Tartick, to update fans on her life. 

After catching up on the couple’s dating history, many fans thought that Harrison was prompting Tartick to propose to his girlfriend. However, the host popped a different question instead.

“This is a question I’m very excited to ask you because, well, your life is about to change,” Harrison began. “And I’m not joking. Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?”

The former Bachelorette was in complete shock.

“Play it cool, Kaitlyn,” the star said as she excitedly accepted the offer. “Play it cool. Are you serious? I’m shaking. Oh my gosh! I’m literally freaking out.”

Fans might remember that Bristowe was very upset when she did not get asked to be on the show after her season on The Bachelorette.

In a series of questions in an Instagram Story, Bristowe answered fan comments about her upcoming debut on Dancing with the Stars

“What would be your song pick for your first dance on DWTS?” one fan asked.

The star popped the song into her story — “Lucky,” by Britney Spears. The 20-year-old track was released in the year 2000. Spears recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the chart-topping sensation on Aug. 8, 2020.

“Isn’t she lovely, this Hollywood girl?” read the lyrics. “She is so lucky, but why does she cry? If there is nothing missing in her life. Why do tears come at night?”

Many Spears fans believe the song was a cry for help, according to Mashable.

‘The Bachelorette’ star Bristowe is diligently getting ready for her time on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

“I’ve been working so hard on my mental and physical health over the last 14 weeks,” she wrote on Instagram. “Reading, meditating, resting, working out, lifting heavy, Pilates, boxing, going to physical therapy for mobility and strength, getting sports massages, dry needling. My body at 35 feels strong and ready to dance.”

“Do you feel super fit yet for DWTS?” another fan asked in the Instagram Story.

“I’m extremely proud of myself for working so hard over the last 14 weeks,” the Off the Vine podcast host responded.

The 29th season of Dancing with the Stars will debut fall 2020. It will air Monday nights at 8 p.m.
