‘The Bachelorette’: Luke P Shames Hannah Brown for Having Sex
We’ve all seen the infamous Bachelorette promo clip where one of the men tries to shame Hannah Brown for having sex. Since the clip aired at the beginning of the season, everyone has been wondering which one of the contestants would argue with Brown about something so intimate.
Well, though the scene hasn’t aired yet, we finally know that the man arguing with Brown was nonother than resident villain, Luke Parker. And that’s not the only time that Parker reprimanded Brown for being sexual.
Where does Parker’s shaming begin?
In the preview for next week, Parker’s conservative views really start to show when he gets angry after finding out that Brown went on a naked bungee jumping date with Garrett Powell.
“That’s like a slap in the face from her and from Garrett,” he says in the clip. “I want to make sure that she’s not sleeping around. I don’t think she would ever do that, but I’ve got to make sure.”
Later, he brings up the topic while at dinner with Brown.
“So let’s talk about sex and how the marriage bed should be kept pure,” he says. “And let’s say you have had sex with one or multiple of these guys. I would be wanting to go home.”
At this point, Brown is completely taken aback.
“I don’t owe you anything,” she says. “My husband would never say what you’ve said to me.”
“I have had sex, and honestly, Jesus still loves me.”
Will Parker’s values come between him and Brown?
Parker and Brown originally bonded over their shared religion.
“She really liked his faith,” host Chris Harrison recently told Entertainment Tonight. “She loved talking [about] religion with him and about God and about the Scriptures. That was a big part of their relationship and there were a lot of those conversations you didn’t get to see just because we don’t have time on the show. They bonded over that and that’s something she didn’t have with a lot of other guys.”
But ultimately, Parker’s staunchly conservative views might be what eventually breaks the two up.
“Ironically enough, faith is what brought them together and his faith and his conservative values might be their biggest sticking point and become the biggest divide between them,” Harrison continued. “Yes, obviously, we are setting something up down the road that will come to a head, where their faith and their values start to conflict, and how they perceive them.”
How will fans react to Parker and Brown’s feud?
When it comes to sexuality, no one can really police anyone else, so there will be a lot of mixed reactions to Brown and Parker’s argument.
“There’s going to be a lot of differing opinions,” Harrison continued. “I think depending on where you are in the country, where your faith lies, what you believe… I think some people are going to be firmly on more, say, the Luke P. side of his conservative values and how he applies those, and I think a lot of people are really going to rally around Hannah.”
