‘The Bachelorette’: New Promo Shows First Look at Tayshia Adams as the Bachelorette
Clare Crawley is out and Tayshia Adams is in. For months, there have been rumors floating around that Crawley would be replaced as the lead on The Bachelorette and now, the show is finally catching up to all the rumors. In last night’s promo, fans finally got to see a glimpse of Adams taking over.
Why is Tayshia Adams replacing Clare Crawley?
Months ago, rumors started floating around that Crawley wanted to quit filming just two weeks in because she had already fallen in love with contestant Dale Moss. Crawley has since denied rumors that she quit or refused to film.
“I did not quit the show,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I stayed the whole time, I went, I did what I was going to do there. I showed up, I didn’t quit anything.”
“I can promise you I did not lock myself in a closet,” Crawley continued. “That was one [rumor] I heard that I was throwing a fit and I locked myself in a closet.”
But as the season has begun airing, it has become clear that Crawley was almost solely focused on Moss while filming was happening. After meeting Moss, she called him her future husband and repeatedly showed him favoritism throughout the show.
She later told the outlet that her first meeting with moss was “electric.”
“That was something that you can’t really anticipate with anybody, you don’t know,” she said. “[But I didn’t know] like, was he feeling that? Are we on the same page?
“Usually in my experience as relationships go, there’s always somebody that’s ahead of the other person,” she said. “It’s really rare that you connect on that same page at the same time, so it was just — it was one of those magical things that I guess just happens.”
The men grew tired of Clare Crawley
In the beginning of the season, all of the men were geared up and ready to meet Crawley, but as time went on and her favoritism toward Moss grew more obvious, the men started to wonder why they were even there.
In the Oct.27 episode of the show, Crawley canceled a group date and instead spent most of the night with Moss. The next night, the Bachelorette spent most of her one on one conversations with each of the men talking about Moss.
Toward the end of the episode, many of the contestants expressed feeling disrespected and confused by Crawley’s focus on Moss.
Tayshia Adams steps in
In the teaser for next week’s episode, the drama really starts going.
“The path we’re on right now, it doesn’t end well … for anybody,” host Chris Harrison says to Crawley in the clip.
“Clare’s gone, and I still haven’t comprehended what the hell is going on,” contestant Blake Moynes says later.
“[This] doesn’t seem to make sense to me right now,” Kenny Braasch adds.
Later, Crawley apologizes to all of the men, while Harrison tries to clean up the mess.
“I’ll apologize if I wasted your time,” Crawley says. “I’ll apologize if I hurt you.”
“We have never dealt with anything like this in the history of our show,” Harrison tells the men.
And then, the camera cuts to Adams getting out of the pool just before the promo ends.
The Bachelorette airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm E.T. on ABC.
