‘The Bachelorette’: The Best Fan Reactions To Luke P. During ‘Men Tell All’
The Bachelorette’s “Men Tell All” episode got heated on Monday night. The evening largely revolved around Luke Parker and his relationship with Hannah Brown as well as his relationships with the other contestants.
Brown was candid about her thoughts concerning Parker. She told him and the audience that her initial attraction to him was born out of her own insecurities. “Ok, at least one guy’s here for me,” she thought upon meeting him.
She told Parker and the audience that she’s tired of feeling ashamed and controlled.
“I will not put up with this because that’s not love, that’s not what the person I want to spend the rest of my life with’s ever gonna make me feel. I’m so over being slut-shamed and feeling like that makes me not a woman of faith,” she said.
Before the episode ended, Brown apologized to the Bachelorette audience.
“I just want to say, Bachelor Nation, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for this whole thing with Luke and him just being on our television screens for so long. Way longer than any of us ever desired. It’s my fault, a lot his, but I did it, I was there, I am sorry. I’m tired of talking about him,” she said. “The Luke P. show is canceled. We will not renew the season. Again, my apologies and God bless the United States of America. Roll Tide.”
It was a dramatic, powerful episode that had a lot of fans feeling a certain type of way.
Before host Chris Harrison began interviewing Brown and the contestants, a clip from Greece was shown. The clip showed Parker arriving at the fantasy suite rose ceremony after having been sent home.
“Luke P. saying of Hannah: “She’s never told me that she loves me but I know she loves me” is more alarming to me than anything he’s said about faith or sex. He does not respect her thoughts or decisions, or her telling him, more or less, “No,” tweeted ET’s Lauren Zima.
When Parker wouldn’t leave, Brown made the now-iconic move of moving the rose stand in front of him in order to proceed anyway.
Fans were also happy to see Mike Johnson back on their screens.
“Loving me some big Mike smile,” one fan tweeted.
Several fans commented on Parker’s decision to suddenly leave the taping.
“Luke P leaves halfway through the men tell all but can’t leave the two times he was actually sent home by Hannah during the season?” one fan tweeted.
Bachelorette fans were also, of course, excited for more John Paul Jones content.
“ok i know i’m late just watching men tell all.. idc. i love john paul jones. that’s all,” writes one fan.
And one Twitter account put together a video compilation of the women in the audience reacting to various Parker statements.
