‘The Bachelorette’: How Tyler C. Became A Model (Yes, He Was Discovered On Instagram)
Tyler Cameron was introduced as a general contractor on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. But one quick scroll through his Instagram page and it was plain to see that the new reality star also dabbled in the world of modeling.
According to Cameron, no matter how his time on The Bachelorette turned out, his plan was always to return to New York City and dive into his modeling career.
“I was gonna move [to New York] whatever happened with the show. Because houses are always gonna be built, renovated, there’s always gonna be opportunities there. But there’s a shelf life to modeling and these opportunities so I’m trying to run with it and see what it has to offer,” he said recently on the Bachelor Party podcast.
How Tyler C. got discovered
On the podcast, Cameron was asked who the first person was who told him he should model. As it turns out, it was a random man on Instagram.
“He just reached out to me through Instagram. Just a random guy who saw me on Instagram. He was like commenting the fire engine on my photos. I clicked on his stuff and saw that he was doing a bunch of stuff in that world so I was like ‘you know what, I’ll message him and see what he does.’ We got to talking and he was like ‘you ever get into modeling?’ and I was like ‘no I’ve never thought of it.’ Well, he was like ‘you should give it a try.’ I was like ‘alright,’ and he was like ‘well I need you to send me digitals.’ I was like ‘what’s a digital?’ And he sent me examples,” Cameron explained.
So the reality star called up a friend of his and said, “Hey, we gotta take these pictures.”
Cameron admits that he was hesitant at first.
“I was like ‘am I gonna send these pictures to some stranger?’ But I was like, ‘you know, I’ve got nothin’ to lose.’ And I send it to him and he took those pictures and he sent them to a bunch of agencies in Miami and I went down and met with all of them, got yeses from all of them,” he said.
The rest, as they say, is history.
What Tyler C. loves most about modeling
Cameron loves getting to meet interesting people from around the world.
On the podcast, he spoke about a recent shoot he was on that featured a diverse group of talent.
“The producers, one was from Argentina, one was from Spain, the photographer was from Russia, the stylist was from San Diego, and the makeup and hair was from Japan. Modeling brought us all together. And were all sitting here in this car having these conversations. Just nonstop talking and laughing. It’s just so cool, all walks of life come together. That’s like my favorite thing about modeling,” he said.
