‘The Bachelorette’: Tyler Cameron Thinks Jed Wyatt Really Did Love Hannah Brown
Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette may be the most dramatic we’ve seen yet. While we remember Brown all the way back when Colton Underwood broke her heart on The Bachelor, she has since searched and found love herself. Unfortunately, the ending of her season wasn’t what anyone expected. Brown fell deeply in love with singer/songwriter Jed Wyatt — but he failed to defend himself against his ex-girlfriend who painted him in a negative light.
So, was Wyatt really on The Bachelorette to win Brown’s heart, or was he in it for the fame and the possible music career? According to fan-favorite and runner-up Tyler Cameron, Wyatt really did care for Brown. Here’s what he said.
Hannah Brown broke up with Jed Wyatt after the girlfriend scandal
Fans adored Jed Wyatt since the beginning, and he ended up winning Hannah Brown’s heart in the end. Unfortunately, the truth came out after the two got engaged. Brown noted on The Bachelorette that she saw media headlines of Wyatt’s ex-girlfriend, Haley Stevens, claiming she dated Wyatt for four months before he went on the show. Stevens also said Wyatt was only going on the show to help his music career, and he promised he would get back in contact with her when filming for him was finished.
“I have thought about her every single day about how this must have affected her,” Stevens told E! News. “It was heartbreaking for me and I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it is for her.” We’re not sure if Stevens and Brown will ever meet, but we do know that Brown has since moved on from the drama with Wyatt and canceled the engagement. As Brown told People, “It’s hard for [Jed] sometimes, but I told him that half-truths and lies get you nowhere. … I don’t think he meant anything malicious, but he was really cowardly.”
Tyler Cameron thinks Wyatt really did have feelings for Hannah
On the live season finale of The Bachelorette, we saw Brown extend the offer of grabbing a drink sometime to runner-up Tyler Cameron — and he wholeheartedly accepted. And we also know that Cameron had a good friendship with Wyatt in the house. As for how he feels about the situation, he told The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast that Wyatt “had his chances to make things right — or to at least explain to her what’s going on and come clean — and it didn’t happen that way,” Us Weekly reports.
“When it got down to me, Peter [Weber] and Jed, I thought that any way she goes, she’s gonna be in good hands,” Cameron continued. “… And just to see all that go down the way it did is just truly disappointing.”
As for if Wyatt ever actually had real feelings for Brown, Cameron thinks despite the drama, he did. Cameron told the podcast that he believes Wyatt “had genuinely serious feelings” for Brown. And Wyatt also maintains that he was in love. “All my actions toward Hannah and my emotions were as real as they could possibly me. I would not change that,” HollywoodLife notes Wyatt said on Good Morning America.
Are Brown and Cameron actually going to reconnect?
Now that Brown is a single woman, what does this mean for her future with Cameron? According to Brown, she definitely wants Cameron in her life in some capacity and would love to make that drink date a reality. As she wrote on Instagram, “And to your burning questions: Yes, the drink is happening. No, you’re not invited. I’m really appreciative that Tyler has always had my back and supported me through all my decisions. He constantly encourages me to lean into the strong woman that I am.”
Cameron wrote his own heartfelt message on Instagram, too. “You kept it real and gave us all of you. As one chapter closes, another one begins. The world is yours girl! Excited to see what you do with it. Looking forward to that drink.”
We know Bachelor Nation is rooting for these two to reconnect and fall in love. As for what’s next, we’ll have to wait and see.
