‘The Bachelorette’: What Really Happened Between Hannah Brown and Peter Weber in That Windmill

It was the sentence heard around the world.

“I have had sex and Jesus still loves me!”

The phrase, uttered by Hannah Brown, was used in almost every Bachelorette promotional clip this season. For most of the season, we wondered what the former beauty queen could have been talking about and what prompted such an outburst.

Finally, it was revealed that Luke Parker had been trying to shame her for potentially having sex.

“I just want to make sure that you’re not going to be sexually intimate with the other relationships here,” he had said to her on the show. “I totally have all the trust in the world in you, but at the same time, I just want to make sure we’re on the same page. Like, if you told me you’re going to have sex or you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, I would be wanting to go home, 100 percent.”

To which she responded that she’d had sex, not once, but twice!

What happened in the windmill with Peter Weber?

Going into last night’s finale, we knew that Brown had had sex with Peter Weber in a windmill. But apparently, part of what she told Parker was a lie.

She and Weber didn’t actually have sex two times.

“I was a little dishonest about something,” Brown told host Chris Harrison on last night’s episode. “Since it’s out there, and I did say there was something that Peter and I did twice … it was actually four times!”

“I can’t believe you just said that!” Weber added.

How did Weber and Brown’s relationship end?

Unfortunately for Weber, Brown ended up sending him home. When he appeared on the live finale, he was still choked up over the whole thing.

“She was just honestly the most amazing person I’ve ever met so far in my life,” he said. “I’m just grateful for all those memories we made and being able to fall in love with her.”

“I really fell for her and I had no doubt that it was going to be us in the end,” he continued. “I really didn’t [think I was going home]. That was tough to watch back.”

Though the breakup was a few months ago, Weber still has feelings for Brown.

“I don’t think you can completely fall out of love with someone,” he said. “It’s been two months. I’ve been moving on and doing my best with that and I know time will heal all wounds. A little piece of my heart will always love her.”

How does Brown feel about Weber?

Facing your ex after a breakup is not easy, especially when they want an explanation as to what went wrong. But Brown tried her best to give Weber some closure last night.

“There wasn’t anything wrong and I know that’s probably hard to hear because I wish I could give you a clear concrete answer, but I truly thought you would meet my family,” she said. “I wish I would have known a little bit sooner about how you felt and you would have told me maybe. I was scared. I think I felt like you were scared to love me.”

“I always enjoyed our time together, but I don’t know if it was just you not exactly expressing to me verbally how you felt, if that held me back from emotionally jumping the gun and going all in,” Brown said.
