‘The Bachelorette’: When Does Season 15 Starring Hannah B. Premiere?

On Tuesday night, it was announced that Hannah Brown, better known as Hannah B. to The Bachelor world, would be the series’ newest Bachelorette!

And the Alabama native is ready to find love.

“I thought my life was going to be this certain way,” she told Chris Harrison during the “Women Tell All” special. “I grew up in Alabama. I was gonna marry the guy who I dated for so long right out of college, start spitting out babies. Ultimately, I just thought that was gonna be okay for me. But it is not okay for me. I want so much more, and I deserve so much more.”

So, when does her journey begin?

Season 15 of The Bachelorette will air on May 13th at 8 pm EST! The show is set to start filming this month!

Filming The Bachelorette always presents more issues than it’s predecessor because of the tight turnaround time. The show only gets around two months of filming and editing. To put that into perspective, The Bachelor gets double that amount of time.

If Brown starts filming as early as next week, the team will actually have less than the normally allotted two months to film and edit the whole thing, so the former beauty queen better be ready for a crash course in love!

Fan reactions to Brown as the Bachelorette

Leading up to the announcement of the newest Bachelorette, there was a lot of speculation about who the new lead would be. A lot of the drama on Colton Underwood’s season actually centered around a few of the girls being on the show solely for the opportunity to become the Bachelorette.

When it was finally announced that Brown would take on the role, fans had some mixed reactions.

Some doubted that the former beauty queen could carry a whole season as she commonly had trouble getting her thoughts together on Underwood’s season.

“Me thinking of how I’m gonna sit thru a whole season of Hannah B. not being able to form a single sentence together,” one person wrote along with a picture of Oprah Winfrey looking absolutely distraught.

And when Brown stumbled through handing out her first rose on the live finale, others could barely watch.

“I had major secondhand embarrassment while watching Hannah B. That was horrible,” one person commented.

Some even called for the season to be canceled. But The Bachelor alums all seemed to be on board with ABC’s choice.

Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe tweeted that she was excited to watch Brown.

“I’m pumped on this decision,” she said. “I think Hannah B will be authentic and endearing. She will be insecure in relatable ways, and I am rooting for her.”

Former Bachelor Nick Viall also chimed in.

“Hannah B is an excellent choice,” he tweeted. “Good luck Hannah!”

If anyone should know what makes a good lead on The Bachelor, it’s Viall. He’s played every part on the show from Bachelorette contestant, to beach-goer on Bachelor in Paradise, all the way to becoming the Bachelor, himself.

What is Brown searching for?

Brown recently sat down with Good Morning America to discuss her hopefullness for her season and what she’s looking forward to.

“I want to have fun and go on some amazing adventures together,” she told the outlet.

While she’s excited for the future, she does acknowledge that her journey got off to a bit of a rough start.

“I handed out my first rose,” she said of meeting the first five contestants on the live finale. “It went … OK.”

“It was my first time. It was live. You know we just roll with the punches but it was really fun,” she continued.

Luckily, she made it through the awkwardness of the night and is ready to meet the rest of her guys.

“The guys were super great and it makes me really excited for my first night meeting all the men,” she said.
