‘The Bachelorette’: Why Chris Harrison Wants to ‘Push’ Jed Wyatt
We are so close to the season finale of The Bachelorette. Which means we are about to find out who Hannah Brown chooses in the end. This journey hasn’t been an easy road for Brown or the men on her season, particularly Jed Wyatt.
Wyatt initially raised red flags when he came onto the show with a guitar in hand. Typically, guys who talk about their music careers on reality shows aren’t necessarily there to find love.
But eventually, Wyatt came clean about how he originally only wanted to promote his music on the show and assured Brown that his feelings had changed and he truly wanted to be with her.
“When a guy walks in with a guitar, they’re notorious for… you’re always [suspicious] of something,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “But all I’ve wanted is someone to be honest and real with me, and he was that. And so, he did exactly what I asked for him to do. I admired that.”
After that hurdle, it seemed like all was well in Brown and Wyatt’s relationship… for about a week.
Recently, musician Haley Stevens has come forward and said that she was dating Wyatt up until right before he got on the plane to film The Bachelorette.
She told Life and Style that she and Wyatt planned how he would act on the show.
“We talked about it like it was a movie like these are characters,” she told the outlet. “Because I didn’t even know who it was going to be, it didn’t even seem real. Now, in hindsight, I’ve seen clips and Hannah is so genuine and sincere. If I could have seen this person that I’m seeing now and how much of her heart she is putting into this show — and into these guys and the process — it could have been a different ball game.”
How does Chris Harrison feel about the scandal?
Host Chris Harrison tends to become like a dad to some of the women on The Bachelorette. He tries to guide them without telling them what to do.
Obviously, by now, Harrison has heard the rumors about Wyatt.
“I know what happened in Greece, clearly,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I was there. I don’t know what’s going to happen on the two-night live finale. There’s a lot of questions to be answered with all these guys. And clearly, there’s been a lot of accusations, been a lot of things said about Jed.”
Harrison doesn’t plan on letting Wyatt get off easily.
“I wanna hear him talk,” he said. “I wanna hear him answer some questions and there are a lot of things that need to be said. And I’m gonna push him, but I wanna have that conversation. There are a lot of things that remain to be solved as we head into this two-night finale.”
So far, the host isn’t buying that Wyatt came on the show completely single.
“Yeah, we heard Jed’s girlfriend speak… And she was emotional, very believable,” he continued. “There’s a lot of things to be said there. Look, we know there was a relationship there… But I wanna hear the rest of it. I wanna hear his side of the story, so let’s give him that chance. And he’s gonna get it on live TV.”
