‘The Bachelorette’: Why Colton Underwood Wants Jed Wyatt to Just ‘Go Away.’

Public opinion about Jed Wyatt has been changing a lot over the course of the last few weeks.

When Wyatt initially broke onto the scene, fans were a bit wary of him. He came on the show with a guitar in hand, which usually means that the contestant is on the show for fame, rather than to find real love. But over the course of the next few weeks, his charm and the way that he seemed to really care about Hannah Brown made him the front runner in many fans’ hearts.

Wyatt comes clean about his intentions

When Wyatt and Brown started getting closer, he decided to be honest about why he originally came onto the show.

“Music is my passion. I want it more than anything in this world,” he told Brown.

“When I signed up for the show, I was skeptical… my first thought was, ‘This is a huge platform,'” he said. “I came in with that mindset. Now, more than anything, I want to be with you,” he continued.

While his declaration made some fans nervous, it kind of endeared Brown.

“When a guy walks in with a guitar, they’re notorious for… you’re always [suspicious] of something,” she told Entertainment Tonight at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. “But all I’ve wanted is someone to be honest and real with me, and he was that. And so, he did exactly what I asked for him to do. I admired that.”

Rumors of Wyatt having a girlfriend

After people finally started to like Wyatt again, musician Haley Stevens came forward and said that she and Wyatt had been dating up until right before he came onto the show.

“Obviously, I’ve looked back on this,” Stevens told Entertainment Tonight. “I read text messages that I sent that I’m like, ‘This is embarrassing. How could I let myself be here? How could I let myself believe this?'”

“Someone told me they love me, this is what’s best for them, I trusted in that. I could never have known that this is what the situation would be. I could never have known that feelings would be involved or hearts would be broken,” she continued. “I know that this story is hurtful to [Hannah Brown], and she’s feeling what I have felt, and that is not an easy thing to do or know that I’ve done. None of it’s easy. So many people are tied up in this.”

How does Colton Underwood feel about Wyatt?

Though he did not pick her in the end, Underwood and Brown had a special connection when she was on his season of The Bachelor. He recently weighed in on the whole girlfriend drama while speaking with Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima.

“I think if there is any doubt about the whole conspiracy theory in the drama going on with Jed, it was put to rest and sort of confirmed just with that hometown [date], because you could see something wasn’t really right, or [his family was] sort of biting their lips for some things,” he said. “It was a little fishy. It was a little off, a little awkward.”

And Underwood thinks that instead of trying to clean up his mess, Wyatt should just disappear.

“He shouldn’t come back from this,” he told Zima. “He should just sort of go away.”
