Last year, while fighting for Becca Kufrin’s heart, David Ravitz fell from his bunk bed and Clay Harbor, the professional football player, hurt himself while playing football.
Hannah Brown’s season was no different. In several of the teasers for her journey to love, we saw an ambulance taking one guy away.
According to multiple sources, including Reality Steve, Kevin Fortenberry was the one who got injured while playing rugby while on a group date.
If you’re like a lot of the rest of us, you probably had kind of forgotten about Fortenberry. But now that he’s on our brains, we did some digging and found out that the Bachelorette contestant has a criminal record.
What was Fortenberry charged with?
You don’t have to dig way back in Fortenberry’s past to find his record. In 2017, the Illinois native was charged with two Class A misdemeanors and one Class B misdemeanor for driving under the influence.
According to the police report, which was obtained by In Touch, Fortenberry had a blood alcohol level of .098. The legal limit is .08. He was also going 66 mph in a 35 mph area.
“Driver acted surprised when I told him his speed,” the report read. “He began to provide a lengthy explanation as to where he was coming from; however, he had difficulty pronouncing words and continually slurred his speech.”
Trying to explain the situation, Fortenberry apparently claimed that he was not a drinker and that he had only had one drink.
What was Fortenberry’s sentence?
Later, Fortenberry plead guilty to his charges and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, along with 12 months of probation, meaning he was on probation while filming Brown’s season. He also had to go to counseling and attend a victim impact panel.
Fortenberry was required to pay $3,1555 in fines and $750 in restitution.
Have other contestants on the show had criminal records?
Contestant Elyse Dehlbom, who competed on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, was also charged with a DUI in 2015. She eventually eliminated herself from the show, claiming that she wasn’t able to get to a place to accept a proposal from Underwood while he was dating other women.
But, perhaps, one of the most surprising criminal records was that of Lincoln Adim, who was a front runner on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette.
One week before The Bachelorette premiered, Adim was convicted of indecent assault and battery for an incident that occurred on May 30, 2016.
He was sentenced to one year in a correction house but his jail term was suspended for two years of probation.
“The judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week during those two years,” a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, read. “If he complies with the judge’s orders, he will not have to serve out his term, but if he fails to comply with those orders or re-offends, he could be ordered to serve out the year behind bars. By law, he is expected to register as a sex offender.”
The production team claimed to have no knowledge of this incident prior to casting Adim.
