Fans will get to see exclusive footage from ‘The Batman’

Production of The Batman was shut down in March due to COVID-19 safety measures. But by that time, Reeves had already filmed approximately 25 percent of the movie. The filmmaker teased fans with photos from the set, including shots of Pattinson’s Batman costume and the new Batmobile.

And in a trailer for the DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes event, Reeves is giving fans an even bigger tease. In a pre-recorded clip, he hints he’s going to drop some new footage of the film.

“There is no way that I could come here and not bring a look at the movie,” he says in the trailer.

Reeves has been keeping details about the new movie under wraps. But there are a number of casting details that have been confirmed.

The will feature Pattinson as the DCEU’s new caped crusader. Big Little Lies and High Fidelity star Zoë Kravitz will take on the role of Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman.

Colin Farrell and Paul Dano are slated to play Gotham’s notorious villains, the Penguin and the Riddler. The role of Commissioner Gordon will be filled by Westworld star Jeffrey Wright.

In an interview with Deadline, Reeves revealed that The Batman will focus on Bruce Wayne’s early years as a superhero, and is centered on a case he’s working on outside of Gotham. The  film is scheduled for an October 2021 premiere.
