The BeyHive Has Had A LOT to Say About Beyoncé’s 2020 Golden Globes Snub
The Queen Bey has been nominated for this award four times now and while we always think she’s close to taking home a win, she always seems to falls short in the end.
Now that the 2020 Golden Globes have come and gone, fans are heated that the singer has been snubbed once again and are tired of this ceremony wronging their queen.
Beyoncé keeps getting snubbed, and fans are not pleased
The BeyHive is currently buzzing on Twitter after seeing Beyoncé get snubbed at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards.
On January 5, fans watched as the biggest celebrities in Hollywood came together to recognize those in film and television, both domestic and foreign.
This year, Beyoncé was up for the Best Original Song award for her track “Spirit” from The Lion King remake album, which earned her her fourth Golden Globe nomination.
While many fans were certain she was finally going to take home her very first Golden Globe, everyone was left in complete and utter shock when the honor went to Elton John and Bernie Taupin instead.
Though the Queen Bey was gracious about her loss, fans were left heated and stood in arms to call out the ceremony for failing to recognize her excellence.
“Beyoncé being snubbed of awards will not be a trend for her in 2020, she’ll soon get the recognition she deserves,” one fan tweeted.
“So #Beyonce was snubbed of a deserving award ONCE AGAIN! When will these people understand SHE IS THE AWARD, Give her what she Deserves!! STOP ROBBING HER,” someone else wrote.
Some fans even plan on boycotting future ceremonies since they’re tired of seeing the “Halo” songstress get “disrespected” during award season.
“I’m sorry I’m so ducking tired of living in a world where Beyoncé gets snubbed. I’m not watching anymore award shows I’m not participating in any type of culture. They never get it right. I’m mad because I don’t know who they is. Who is the Golden or the Globe? Who is Oscar?” another fan expressed.
“I’m truly tired of Beyoncé’s artistry being disrespected by these award shows. She’s been snubbed every season since 2014 in some way. Yet she’s the biggest and one of the most talented artists of our generation. Make it make sense,” another fan shared.
The singer doesn’t take these losses to heart
While Beyoncé’s snub at the Golden Globes was hard for fans to watch, this wasn’t the first time she’s taken a back seat to other artists during award shows.
Early last year, fans were left felt disappointed after both her critically acclaimed visual album, Lemonade, and her Netflix documentary, Homecoming, were snubbed by the Grammys and Oscars, respectively.
The superstar even fell short of taking home an award during the 2019 Emmy’s even though she was nominated in six different categories.
Though her losses have been extremely hard for fans to come to terms with, Beyoncé recently revealed that losing isn’t that big of a deal to her.
“I began to search for deeper meaning when life began to teach me lessons I didn’t know I needed. Success looks different to me now,” the R&B songstress shared with ELLE back in December 2019. “I learned that all pain and loss is in fact a gift. Having miscarriages taught me that I had to mother myself before I could be a mother to someone else. Then I had Blue, and the quest for my purpose became so much deeper. I died and was reborn in my relationship, and the quest for self became even stronger. It’s difficult for me to go backwards.”
She continued, “Being ‘number one’ was no longer my priority. My true win is creating art and a legacy that will live far beyond me. That’s fulfilling.”
Spoken like a true icon!
