With the release date of the live-action Justice League movie fast approaching, new information has been coming out almost daily about the film. Now, thanks to The Big Bang Theory, one of the biggest spoilers of them all may have just been revealed.
The CBS sitcom is running a contest called the “GEEK-stakes,” which is giving one fan a chance to attend the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles. One contestant noticed something odd about the wheel on the contest page and posted a GIF of it to Reddit. The internet then exploded with some huge news.
Before we get to the latest possible spoiler, here is everything else we recently learned about Justice League.
‘First Look’ trailer by AT&T released
On Oct. 10, 2017, the Justice League “First Look” trailer by AT&T was released. The almost two-minute clip features some of the cast talking about the characters they play, and while it doesn’t really offer new information about the film, it teases more exclusive content and videos via AT&T’s Justice League site.
Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment’s partnership with AT&T also includes fan experiences. These experiences offer everything from exclusive posters to virtual reality interactions and more at select AT&T stores throughout the U.S.
New trailer debuts at New York Comic-Con
Prior to the release of the “First Look” trailer, fans were treated to a full-length trailer for Justice League during 2017 New York Comic-Con.
Just a few seconds in, we see Amy Adams’ Lois Lane character in a scene alongside her seemingly dearly departed Clark Kent aka Superman (played by Henry Cavill). Then, a voice breaks in and says, “I had a dream it was the end of the world.”
After that, Batman teases what dark force the heroes are up against and the action begins.
Superman is in Justice League

The release of the NYCC trailer confirms the return of Cavill’s character albeit in a dream sequence, but fans are pretty positive that he will he have a much larger role in the upcoming Justice League film. Warner Brothers, however, hasn’t let on if that is the case or not. The studio instead continues to release posters and promos without the Man of Steel featured, but with his logo in the “You Can’t Save the World Alone” tagline.
What we’ve known all along is that Superman is involved in the film in some way. Whether he’s dead or alive, though, remains to be seen.
Zack Snyder is back on board to promote film
As most of us heard by now during the filming of Justice League, Zack Snyder, who directed both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, stepped away from production to deal with the death of his daughter. The director for the first two Avengers movies, Joss Whedon, then took over the reins.
Amazons are returning
In June 2017, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright confirmed that they would be reprising their roles from Wonder Woman as Queen Hippolyta and General Antiope in Justice League.
“[Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well,” Neisen told the Los Angeles Times.
Wright added that fans would get to see more of their “history” in the film, implying that there could be some flashbacks.
Also in June, the official plot synopsis for the film was revealed.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
The studio later confirmed that the “threat” is from Steppenwolf. The villain is an alien from the planet Apokolips in league with the cosmic tyrant Darkseid.
Green Lantern may be part of Justice League
The giant wheel spinning behind The Big Bang Theory cartoon cast features the logos for Batman, the Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Superman, but there is also another logo added in the mix — and that one is for Green Lantern! This seemingly confirms the rumors that have been swirling for months about the beloved character making an appearance in Justice League.
We know that Batman is uniting several DC superheros for battle. So does this mean Green Lantern will be one of them too? We’ll find out for sure when the film hits theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
