Kylie Jenner is one of the biggest names around today. She originally rose to fame as the youngest sister on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but these days, the 21-year-old star also known as the owner of a huge beauty brand. There’s no doubt that Jenner has a lot to be proud of, but does she often rub her success in other people’s faces? Just how smug is she about attaining this amount of wealth and power at a young age?
Kylie Jenner was declared the youngest self-made billionaire
Jenner’s beauty company, Kylie Cosmetics, was launched in 2015 and has seen massive growth since the very beginning. Kylie Cosmetics products constantly sold out during their releases and the line has been praised by many industry insiders.
In 2018, Kylie Cosmetics was reported to be worth almost $1 billion. Since Jenner owns 100 percent of the company, she was able to keep a huge amount of the profit and, thus, became the youngest self-made billionaire in the world, as declared by Forbes.
Even though she is the youngest in her family, Jenner is now the richest member. Her wealth is almost three times that of her sister Kim Kardashian, who was originally the most well-known person in the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Kylie Jenner was reportedly bragging about her wealth at the Met Gala
Most average people do not know what goes on inside the prestigious Met Gala. However, in a recent Sports Illustrated interview with Alex Rodriguez, the former baseball star let the world in a couple of details and it did not paint Jenner in the best picture.
Rodriguez shared that he sat at “a great table” with people such as Idris Elba, Donatella Versace, Henry Golding, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
It seemed like an interesting, diverse group for sure. As for a conversation topic that popped up at the table, Rodriguez said: “Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”
Kylie Jenner shot back at Alex Rodriguez’s claims
Naturally, people could not stop talking about Rodriguez’s comment and Jenner did not seem to be very happy about what was published about her. On Twitter, Jenner responded to a news article about Rodriguez’s quote and said: “Umm no i didn’t. We only spoke about Game of Thrones.”
Shortly afterward, Rodriguez tweeted a reply to the makeup mogul. Instead of trying to start a feud, he stepped back and agreed with Kylie Jenner.
“OMG that’s right @KylieJenner!!” Alex Rodriguez tweeted. “It was me talking about you and your makeup line and how much my girls love you. #GOT #respect #alllove.”
Despite the fact that their little exchange seemed to have been resolved then and there, a lot of fans still can’t help but wonder whether Rodriguez was being sarcastic or if he really did not remember who talked about what at the Met Gala.
Kylie Jenner’s family called her ‘entitled’
Whether Jenner really did brag about her wealth at the Met Gala or not is perhaps something we may never know for sure since it all looks like a game of “he said, she said” at the moment. However, there are reasons to believe that Jenner could be feeling a bit big-headed about her status.
In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians a few weeks ago, the family brought up Jenner’s billionaire status and hinted at the fact that the 21-year-old should perhaps tone down some of her diva-like behavior.
Jenner was fighting with her mother over her office, claiming that Kris Jenner was infringing on what was supposed to be Kylie Jenner’s workspace. “It’s just getting out of hand,” the beauty mogul said, sharing that she worked hard on developing the office and paid “way too much a month” for it.
Kris Jenner decided to complain to her oldest daughter, Kourtney Kardashian: “Kylie’s been so territorial. I’m not sure what’s going on.”
Kardashian, who seemed to be on her mother’s side, responded: “She has this like, entitlement—no one says anything because she’s Kylie Billionaire Jenner.”
