‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: Darin Brooks Gives Update on When Filming May Resume
Currently, there is still no word on when The Bold and the Beautiful could resume its production, which was halted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But with an earlier report stating that the CBS soap opera could come back sooner than expected, a cast member’s tweet has confirmed that the ball is rolling.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ may possibly return to filming in June
A report from Deadline earlier this month revealed the fact that the show could return earlier than expected. The report said that production may resume in June.
The article stated:
I hear the soap’s cast and crew this week received a new memo, informing them that The Bold and the Beautiful production company is currently getting ready to resume production in June. Sources stressed that this is just a projected start date and, while the producers are making preparations, the situation remains fluid.”
It also noted that even if the show would be able to resume filming, safety protocols would have to be in place by Television City, Los Angeles, and the state of California. Production resuming would also have to signed off and cleared by all of the Hollywood unions.
Currently, the only television shows that are set to resume production are Tyler Perry’s Sistas and Tyler Perry’s The Oval. The two series are created, written, and directed by Perry, air on BET. They film at his studios in Atlanta. Many safety precautions are planned such as a limited amount of crew members and the quarantining of cast and crew for the two and a half weeks the shows will film. They are set to kick things back off in July.
Cast member Darin Brooks gives an update
During a Q&A session on Twitter, several fans asked Brooks, who plays Wyatt Spencer on the show, several questions. One fan asked him, “Any word on when you all may consider going back to filming again?”
Brooks responded, saying, “Hopefully soon!! #BoldandBeautiful I know they’re working on it with LA county as we speak! So stay tuned!” This pretty much confirms most of the information from the Deadline report, especially about the clearance that the show needs from the country.
Brooks isn’t the first cast member to speak about the show’s return. His co-star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, also spoke about it in the interview.
The actress told Herald LIVE, “I am kind of navigating this, so I don’t really know. I think behind the scenes there will be a skeleton crew, or smaller crew, and I guess more organized [sic] with how we shoot, with audio and directors and making sure we wash our hands and cleanliness around the studio.”
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
