Two more seasons of the soap opera have been secured

The news of the CBS soap opera’s renewal was first reported by industry trade publication, Deadline. The two new seasons of the show will be number 34 and 35 for the long-running soap. The show’s sister series, The Young and the Restless, was renewed for four seasons in January.

In a statement, my Reisenbach, EVP Current Programs, CBS Entertainment, said, “For over three decades, The Bold and the Beautiful has been a cornerstone of the CBS Daytime lineup. The show has been a creative and ratings success due to the supremely talented cast, writers and producers that Brad Bell has assembled. She continued, “Of course, none of this would have been possible without B&B’s dedicated fans, whose passion for these characters and stories is unsurpassed. We are delighted to be able to continue to offer them a daily look into the romances and rivalries between the Forrester, Logan and Spencer families.”

The soap’s showrunner and executive producer Bradley Bell said in a statement, “I am thrilled to dive into years 34 and 35 of The Bold and the Beautiful. We are grateful to Amy Reisenbach and everyone at CBS for their incredible commitment to the series. Of course, many thanks to our loyal fans who motivate us every day with their unending passion and enthusiasm.”

A report says the show could possibly resume production next month

Before breaking the news that the show had been renewed for two seasons, Deadline also reported that the show could resume production in June. With almost every television or film project being suspended due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The Bold and the Beautiful has not been filming and has not aired a new episode for several weeks.

The report stated that the cast and crew of the show received a memo saying that production was getting ready to resume in June. According to the report, although the “situation remains fluid” producers were making the necessary preparations.

Also, in order for the show to resume, official safety protocols would need to be set in place by Television City, Los Angeles, and the state of California. Everything would also need to be endorsed by all of the Hollywood unions.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
