‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: Is This the Reason for Steffy’s Rushed Storyline?
Since the return of The Bold and the Beautiful, fans are delighted to sink into the dramatic stories of the fashion-forward Forresters and Spencers. But with the seemingly rushed story of Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) addiction, re-hab, and an “I love you” to a doctor she hasn’t known long, what’s the real reason behind it all?
Steffy’s been through a lot on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ since production resumed
Just after everyone returned from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shutdown, The Bold and the Beautiful‘s characters went right back into all the drama to make up for months of lost time.
While some of the arcs are just as consistent as before (hello, Liam-Steffy-Hope triangle), other ones have surfaced with a vengeance. It all started when Steffy was hospitalized after an accident and it’s been a fast-paced adventure ever since.
Between her addiction to pain medication and almost immediate (and brief) intervention, rehabilitation, and a new love interest in her doctor (Tanner Novlan), some wonder why things are happening so quickly for the character.
Here’s one possible reason for Steffy’s rushed storyline
On Oct. 15, Wood’s posted to Instagram an announcement of her own.
“Once you pop, the fun don’t stop!” ” she captioned a video clip. “Round 2 — lego!”
In the video, Woods reveals she’s pregnant with baby number two by casually wearing a tracksuit before instantly transforming to reveal her baby bump.
According to her hashtag, Woods is 23 weeks. She and her husband Elan Ruspoli already have a nearly 2-year-old son, Rise Harlan. Likewise, Novlan has been married to soap alum Caitlyn Ewell since 2015 and they have one child together, Poppy Marie Novlan.
How it may impact Steffy’s future on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’
Considering Woods’ has already begun to show (at least, on social media), it’s unclear how the writers will spin it. They could potentially shoot Woods from the neck up, or have her hide behind large objects, to avoid putting another pregnancy into her story arc.
Or, they could have Steffy and Finn on the fast-track to wedding bells and parenthood to incorporate the pregnancy into the show. Finn has been open about fatherhood and it seems as though the show has also mentioned different times alluding to the fact that more time has passed than what is shown.
Still, it’s jarring for viewers to watch all of this unfold in record time. We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of Steffy and Finn — and her baby-to-be (or not-to-be). More so, how will Liam (Scott Clifton) react to all of this?
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
