‘The Chi’ Season 4 trailer teases another interesting season

As a refresher, the third season of The Chi brought lots of drama to certain characters. Keisha decided to keep her baby, much to the disappointment of Kevin. Ronnie was killed over Coogie’s murder. And Trig got looped into Douda’s criminal business. But at the same time, there were lots of highs, like Emmett’s marriage to Tiffany, Kevin’s blossoming relationship with Jemma, and Papa’s romance with Maisha.

The upcoming season promises much of the same. But there are also new characters such as Trig’s friend Rahsaad “Shaad” Marshall (Jason Weaver) and a local interior designer named Octavia (Tabitha Brown). Also, police brutality seems to be its central theme, whereas season 3 was the kidnapping of Black girls.

The official synopsis reads, “Jake, Papa, and Kevin confront the harsh reality of how the world views young, Black men in the aftermath of an act of police brutality. As the three friends reckon with a broken system, the aftershocks ripple across the South Side, inspiring friends and neighbors to rise up and take action. How does a community find the strength to persevere? That’s the power of THE CHI.”
