Netflix unleashes a shocking tweet

Netflix’s campaign for The Circle kicked off Tuesday when a tweet went out on its official account of a guy without a shirt, seemingly in the gym. It was captioned, “hey babe! new job is good but I miss u a lot u miss me???”

In a release sent to members of the press, Netflix revealed that they were not hacked, and the guy in this photo is Joey, a contestant on their upcoming reality show, The Circle.

The streaming service drops trailer for ‘The Circle’

Netflix’s official description of the series reads, “In The Circle, you never know who you’re playing against as contestants bond, flirt, and plot, all in an effort to earn clout exclusively through a unique social media platform. Everyone’s competing to gain influence and avoid getting voted out. But who’s for real and who’s a catfish? With $100k on the line, what would you do – and who would you be – to win?”

The Circle will be hosted by comedian and actress, Michelle Buteau. In the trailer, you see several contestants, who seem to be living in the same complex, but sequestered. The only way they can communicate with each other is through a social media site using television monitors.

From this first look at the show, it seems that it combines elements from Big Brother and Love Island. It is a social experiment with people living together who do not know each other, which is something consistent in both shows. They are also trying to find love, which is a component of Love Island. However, the twist here is that everyone isn’t who they say they are, and you could be talking to a catfish!

When will ‘The Circle’ premiere?

The Circle debuts on Netflix on January 1. It will roll out twelve hour-long episodes over three weeks. The first batch of episodes will drop on January 1, followed by another on January 8, and another on January 15.

So if you have just been patiently waiting for a new season of your favorite show, hopefully, The Circle can come into your life and help fill that void!
