The Duggar Family Won’t Be Supporting One of Amy Duggar’s Upcoming Business Ventures
Amy Duggar and Dillon King are eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child, but raising their first-born isn’t the only adventure they are planning for the near future. Dillon King, who married Amy Duggar in 2015, announced that he would be opening a nightspot close to this Northwest Arkansas home. The planned establishment will serve whiskey, stock cigars, and invite patrons to partake in both in an upscale environment. Amy seems onboard with the new venture, but her famous family probably isn’t.
Amy and Dillon have big plans for their business empire
Amy Duggar broke the family mold when she stepped out on her own to open a clothing boutique. While the boutique has a biblical name and houses clothing that even the most modest Duggar can get behind, her decision to step out on a solo business venture was daring. While Amy wasn’t raised in the same strict religion as her famous cousin, she’s still seen as a trailblazer.
The Duggar family believes that women belong in the home. Amy, on the other hand, doesn’t share the same belief and is in her store daily, even as she awaits the arrival of her first child. Now, it looks like Amy and Dillon will be embarking on a new business venture. Dillon announced that he would be opening a whiskey bar and cigar lounge to fill a void in their community’s nightlife scene.
Dillon noted that there isn’t a mature spot for friends to gather and enjoy a good whiskey or a high-end cigar. By bringing the bar, called Wellington’s, to the area he hopes to offer community members a relaxed environment to kickback. Wellington’s will also include a high-end cigar lounge for those who enjoy a relaxing smoke, according to In Touch.
The Duggar family probably won’t support the venture
Dillon’s new business sounds interesting, but the Duggar family most likely won’t be supporting it. The family is staunchly against drinking, and all seemingly abstain from alcohol of all types. That means they don’t have a glass of wine with a special dinner, nor do they offer a champagne toast at their weddings.
The Duggar family doesn’t just avoid alcohol altogether; they don’t want it in their neighborhood either. According to 40/29 News, the Duggar family was on hand to protest a convenience store when they applied for a license to sell beer in 2009. The store’s request was later denied, and allegedly the Duggars were a large part of why the store didn’t get the green light to sell beer.
What other rules do the Duggar kids have to follow?
Along with avoiding alcohol, the Duggar family does not partake in dancing or listening to modern music. Many fans are skeptical about their insistence that they don’t listen to contemporary music, though. Both Jinger Duggar and Jana Duggar have both used lyrics to modern songs in their Instagram captions. Jana, most recently, used a Michael Buble quote when she was asked why she is not yet dating.
The family also actively avoids locations were people might be acting in a manner that doesn’t meet their standards. They also work tirelessly to ensure the young men in their family don’t get an errant glance of a woman’s legs. In fact, Jana just received backlash for photoshopping skirts onto two bystanders in a recent snapshot.
