‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’: Offset Said He Typically Carries $100,000 in Cash at All Times
Rapper Offset is known for his relationship with Cardi B, as they seemed like the perfect power couple. Unfortunately, Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020. Now, the microscope is on their romance like never before.
Prior to the recent unfortunate events, Offset visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2019. And DeGeneres brought up all the cash Offset appeared to be carrying. Here’s what she was talking about.
Offset is in the news more than ever thanks to his divorce with Cardi B
Cardi B and Offset have been together since 2017. But it certainly hasn’t been smooth sailing. After three years of marriage, Cardi B decided to call it quits.
Many suspected Offset’s infidelities in the past remained one of the reasons as to why Cardi B was ready for a divorce. Back in December 2018, Cardi announced she was finished with Offset following new cheating rumors. But Offset begged for forgiveness in 2019. Finally, in August 2020, Cardi B explained that while her relationship certainly has a lot of drama, there’s also a lot of love and a “big friendship.”
Now, Cardi B is speaking out about the divorce — and she claimed she’s simply done with the constant arguing. “It’s not because of cheating,” she explained via Instagram. “I’m seeing people say it’s because he’s got a baby on the way — that’s a whole f*cking complete lie. This is the, like, second time people try to pin babies over here. No, that’s bullsh*t.”
Offset talked about all the cash he carries while on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’
Way before news of divorce hit the media, Offset visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show in March 2019. He talked about his near-fatal car crash he was able to walk away from that occurred when Cardi was seven months pregnant with their daughter, Kulture. Offset also mentioned that he made a lot of mistakes when some of his other kids were young, and he hopes to be a better man going forward.
Aside from the serious talk, Offset’s money was also brought up. “I noticed that you carried a lot of money with you, like cash money,” DeGeneres said. She then explained that she took her own cash out of her pocket and flashed it to the camera as a joke. “So, you had your 100s, I had my 10s,” she joked.
“Look at the stack of money on your shoulder,” the comedian added. “On average, how much do you have on you carrying around?”
“I’ve learned to kind of slow it down,” Offset responded. “But usually it’s like $100,000.”
Offset explained what he was using his cash for
The conversation surrounding Offset’s cash continued when DeGeneres asked the rapper what he was planning to do with all of his money. “You said you were going to go buy a car,” DeGeneres commented. “And I asked you what kind, and I said, let me help you out, I’ll make a call.”
“You was the plug to me getting my Bentley truck,” Offset told DeGeneres. He then explained that he had $200,000 “that day,” and DeGeneres offered to help him get a Bentley truck since she had “people at Bentley.”
Offset then continued that he wanted to make sure his Bentley truck had “red seats,” and DeGeneres helped him make his dream a reality.
“Is that your favorite color?” DeGeneres asked.
“It complements my skin color,” Offset joked.
Now we know what the rapper was carrying around so much cash for at the time. As for the future, we’re not sure — but we imagine he’ll continue to make big purchases with his $100,000 cash.
