‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 4: Fans Weigh in on What They Hope Will Happen and You Need to See These Predictions
There hasn’t been a whole lot of information surrounding season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale, but that hasn’t stopped loyal fans from discussing what they would like to see in the hit Hulu series. Read on for predictions from fans for the highly anticipated new season. There are possible spoilers ahead.
What do fans want to see in season 4?
Reddit is full of people trying to discuss the tight-lipped fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Season 3 left viewers with a huge cliffhanger and we’re all still reeling. Fans across the board want to see more action and finally learn what happens with June (Elisabeth Moss).
“I want to see the rest of the world landing troops on Gilead’s coasts, improvised bombs being detonated everywhere, and paratroopers dropping over Gilead’s cities,” a Reddit user wrote.
“Can’t wait to see War Crimes tribunals. Rita has so much dirt on the Waterfords,” another user said, which is a great point. Rita (Amanda Brugel) was a part of the Waterfords household for a while, so now that she is free in Canada, she could definitely be called to testify against them and the consequences could be dire.
Could Nick return?
Fans have mixed feelings about June and Nick’s (Max Minghella) storyline. Some are hoping to see more of his character and others could simply care less for him. Speculation is also running high on whether or not June could be pregnant or not.
“More Nick for sure,” someone else said. “I have a feeling in my waters that he and June’s story isn’t finished just yet. I’m struggling to see how June could end up anywhere but The Wall after the finale – maybe a last minute redemption? Could she be pregnant by Commander Lawrence perhaps? It was only the one time but you never know.”
How will ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ address the missing children?
After that explosive and action-packed finale in season 3, the series will have to show how the commanders and their households react to the missing children. “I want the season to open with reactions of the commanders and wives realizing the kids are gone. I want to see them suffer the way they have made the Handmaids suffer,” another Reddit user wrote.
“I really like the point about the rest of the world reacting to the fertility crisis! I think it would’ve been really cool to have like a little scene with Luke walking around in public with Holly in his arms and passerbys like stopping and pointing and smiling and stuff,” another wrote.
What will happen to June?
The main character June has experienced pure hell in Gilead up until this point. She was even shot in the season 3 finale and killed a guard. Many fans don’t expect her to take things lying down anymore and they don’t want to see her given to another commander to abuse. “My only wish is that June isn’t immediately handed over to yet another Commander. Like literally, I’m cool with anything except that,” someone noted.
“Bring in some more handmaids,” another user mentioned. “And show them getting the handmaid sales pitch. The court trial, where the judge or someone else says to a young woman, ‘You know, if you’d rather not die in the Colonies, there is another option for you…’”
The Handmaid’s Tale isn’t over just yet, so hopefully fans will get the answers they’re seeking in season 4.
