The Heartbreaking Reason Kate Middleton And Queen Elizabeth No Longer Have An ‘Intimate Relationship’

Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth have known each other for close to 20 years, yet their relationship has taken a turn for the worse. Middleton met Prince William in 2002 and became a member of the royal family nearly a decade later. Although Middleton is one of the more popular members of the monarchy, inside sources claim that she does not have a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth. Here is an inside look at the heartbreaking reason Middleton and Elizabeth are no longer close.

Why Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth are no longer close

Royal expert Ingrid Seward, who is also an editor of Majesty Magazine, claims that Middleton and Elizabeth do not have an “intimate relationship.” According to Express, Seward recently revealed that Elizabeth has a lot of respect for Middleton and what she has accomplished over the years, but their lack of similar interests has prevented them from developing a close bond.

Instead, Seward says Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth have a relationship on the professional level and that Her Majesty would never do anything to ruin what they have.

“The Queen admires Kate tremendously but does not have an intimate relationship with her as they don’t have much in common,” Seward shared.

Prince William is second in line to the throne, following his father, Prince Charles. Once William takes the throne, Middleton will be given the title of Queen Consort. Although they do not share a lot of interests in common, Middleton will take on queenly duties once William is on the throne, which gives her and Elizabeth something in common.

The two, of course, also have a bond with their children, though Seward does not believe the topic of parenthood comes up often between the women. Elizabeth has a reputation for being shy and is unlikely to broach personal topics during conversations.

Inside Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth’s relationship

Although Middleton started dating William when they were in college, the future Duchess of Cambridge did not meet Elizabeth until 2008. In a past interview, Middleton revealed that she first crossed paths with the monarch during a royal wedding in 2008.

The two met in a public setting and Middleton recalled that Elizabeth welcomed her with open arms, despite all the focus being on the bride and groom: Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly. Middleton added that she got along great with Elizabeth and enjoyed a short chat with the monarch.

After marrying William, Kate Middleton started appearing with Elizabeth during royal events. The two, for instance, enjoyed several public outings in 2012, a year after the wedding. This includes a trip to Nottingham and an appearance during Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee tour. In each of these engagements, Middleton and Elizabeth seemed happy with each other and often smiled big for the cameras. The two may not be that close, but they certainly put on a good front in public.

Queen Elizabeth shares close bond with Meghan Markle

While Elizabeth and Middleton are not close, Her Majesty does share a tight bond with Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. Elizabeth reportedly did everything in her power to ensure that Markle felt at home when she was dating Harry.

After their initial meeting, Markle and Elizabeth discovered that they share a lot in common, including a love for animals. Markle also has a knack for making Elizabeth laugh, a trait that has helped them form a bond over the years.

In fact, during an appearance at the opening of the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Wildnes opening, Markle was spotted making Elizabeth laugh by whispering something into her ear.

As royal watchers are well aware, Elizabeth also made some concessions for Markle before she became a part of the royal family. This includes inviting the former actress to celebrate Christmas at Sandringham, an event normally reserved for members of the royal family.

When Middleton was engaged to William, for example, she did not get invited to Sandringham until after they tied the knot in 2011. Elizabeth also allowed Harry and Markle to exchange vows inside a church, despite this being her second marriage. Markle was previously married to Trevor Engelson, whom she divorced in 2013.

Kate Middleton, who had her third child with William last year, has not commented on the rumors surrounding her relationship with Queen Elizabeth.
