‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ Episode 2 Recap: Mischa Barton Confronts Online “Bully” Perez Hilton
If episode 1 of The Hills: New Beginnings threw you in a loop last week, just wait until you hear about all of the drama that took place on episode 2.
Many of us were expecting the fighting, schemes, and romances to start coming out somewhere close to the middle of the season, but The Hills: New Beginnings is getting the ball rolling early on.
One of the biggest “OMG” moments this past episode was Mischa Barton coming face to face with celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, and finally confronting him for years of torment.
Mischa Barton finally stood up to her former bully
One of the most jaw-dropping moments that had us all on the edge of our seats was seeing Mischa Barton epically take down Perez Hilton.
Hilton has written some pretty vile and disheartening things about Mischa Barton in the past, especially during her days on The O.C.
After learning the Perez Hilton would be a guest at Stephanie Pratt’s welcome home party, Barton expressed that she was nervous to face him in person.
“At the end of the day, he’s a scum bag,” Barton said after learning she would soon be in the same room as Hilton.
Though she was faced with a ton of emotions, Mischa Barton expressed that she wasn’t going to let Perez Hilton leave without confronting him for his years of bullying.
“I heard you were on Spencer’s podcast, he said you were very bothered so I thought I’d come and chat if you want… I’m happy to apologize,” Perez Hilton told Mischa Barton after she came up to him during the party.
“This bullying that you did for so long to so many young girls, I find it hard to let go,” Barton told Hilton. “I really do. It’s not just about the body shaming, or outing people who are gay before they’re really out of the closet — all of that stuff, I just can’t really accept the apology entirely… I don’t really sit well with people who purposefully harm other people.”
Hilton then started to explain that he couldn’t stop his old behavior, even though he knew it was wrong when Audrina Patridge cut in with “because of the money?”
The celebrity blogger continued to extend his apology by telling Barton, “I say this on my kid’s life: I swear, if I could go back in time and do things differently, I would.”
Both Barton and Patridge questioned his alleged sincerity which escalated the conversation.
“I just swore on my kid’s life, and you’re s–ting on me now?” Perez angrily said.
Stephanie and Spencer Pratt had yet another falling out
Not only was the night filled with Mischa Barton and Perez Hilton’s tension, Spencer and Stephanie Pratt also had an exchange of words during the party.
Before arriving at his estranged sister’s party, Spencer Pratt revealed that he was going into it not looking to start drama.
“As long as I don’t say the wrong thing, everything will be fine,” Pratt said ahead of the party.
However, it turns out his plan didn’t go the way he thought.
After Mischa Barton and Perez Hilton went head to head, it was Stephanie and Spencer Pratt’s turn to hash a few things out.
The night ended with him yelling at his sister, “You’re not my family, I don’t trust you.”
Heidi Pratt tried stepping in and put the blame on her sister-in-law which just made matters worse.
Brody Jenner can no longer count on his father
Though a majority of the episode was filled with drama, seeing Brandon Lee enjoy time with his friends as they laughed and shared childhood stories was like a breathe of fresh air for viewers.
The 22-year-old hosted a get together at his home with a few of his closest friends, one of which included Brody Jenner.
The men began talking about their struggles of growing up with famous families, which prompted Jenner to share what his relationship is currently like with his dad, Caitlyn Jenner.
So as you can see, this season of The Hills: New Beginnings is not going to have a shortage of drama in the slightest and we can’t wait to see what is set to unfold next week.
