‘The Hills: New Beginnings’: Stephanie Pratt Speaks Out Against Heidi and Spencer, Calls Them ‘Toxic People’
Anyone who ever watched the original MTV reality show The Hills knows that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag – or “Speidi,” as they’re often called – always brought the drama. While the show was mostly focused on Lauren Conrad as she navigated the pitfalls of young adulthood, Spencer and Heidi were the ones people couldn’t stop talking about.
Most fans of The Hills assumed the dysfunctional couple would eventually break up for good. But instead of going down in flames, Spencer and Heidi got married in 2009 and a decade later, they’re still together. They even have a young son named Gunner.
Now that The Hills: New Beginnings is scheduled to premiere; Speidi is the focus of speculation all over again. One
Why does Stephanie Pratt despise her brother Spencer and his wife?
Stephanie Pratt was a frequent fixture on the series and often the only advocate for Heidi and Spencer. Unlike the other girls in the group, Stephanie seemed to always defend Spencer and his controversial ways, which makes sense since she’s family. But clearly those family ties have been severed since the show wrapped.
On a recent episode of Pratt Cast on iHeartRadio, Stephanie explained
She went on: “I’m done. I don’t care. I’m not protecting them anymore.”
Why all the hostility? According to Stephanie, Heidi Montag is responsible for “sabotaging” her relationship with Spencer and causing tension in the entire Pratt family.
“I’m not going to pretend that Spencer and Heidi are good people like I was doing for most of the series for my parents. For the [expletive] they have done to me recently, I’m done. This is why I moved to London. I’m done,” she shared. “They are the most toxic people I’ve ever met. They are Bonnie and Clyde till they die so if they say this sky is black, all of us are morons for saying it’s blue.”
Will Stephanie Pratt regret trashing her family on a national radio show?
The show host questioned Stephanie’s harsh words, asking pointedly if she thought it might be unwise to engage in trash talk about her own family.
In reply, Stephanie Pratt said, “I’m going to expose them for who they are. Heidi doesn’t want Spencer to have a relationship with anyone but her. And you know what? That’s fine. I don’t want a relationship with Spencer anymore. Gunner, I will miss the fact that I’m going to miss out on the cutest, cutest, cutest little boy’s early years but it’s not worth it.”
Is this Spencer family drama all a publicity stunt?
Skeptics question whether these bold proclamations of family hatred are a little too perfectly timed. After all, MTV just announced the new series and no doubt they’ll want to get as many people interested as possible. But Stephanie Pratt insists that’s not why she’s speaking out.
Stephanie said: “This is me actually exiting my family. I’ve tried to be nice to her for 10 years because I love my brother. It never changes. They flip the switch on me and I have no idea…None of it makes sense.”
Yikes. Sounds like The Hills: New Beginnings will be a full-scale drama-fest, and we are here for it.
