The Incredible Dr. Pol‘s Twitter account is teasing an enormous announcement the beloved veterinarian, his family, and staff are ready to make. The show, soon starting its sixteenth season on NatGeo WILD, is the network’s #1 offering.
Find out what the animal doctor’s big news is and if it’ll affect the future of the show.
NatGeo WILD is running ’12 Days of Pol’ now
The network has been running its 12 Days of Pol, which started on Dec. 23 with a mammoth (pun intended) marathon of wall-to-wall episodes of The Incredible Dr. Pol. The marathon ends on Jan. 4.
The 77-year-old veterinarian shared on the occasion of the show’s 100th episode his feelings on what he hopes the show communicates to viewers.
“My philosophy is that I want kids to grow up with animals. When kids grow up with animals, they make better adults. Especially when kids are very young, they are often taking care of animals or playing with animals, even before they can walk sometimes. This is what people don’t realize, how much animals can teach humans.’
The Pols welcomed a new addition to their family recently
Perhaps the Pols’ big news has to do with an expansion to their family. Dr. Pol’s son, Charles (who is a co-star and executive producer of the program) and his wife, Beth, recently welcomed their daughter, Abigail, to the family on Oct. 19.
Abigail is the couple’s first child, People reported in October 2019.
“God has blessed us with a beautiful little daughter, Abigail. We are thrilled she’s finally arrived, and we are grateful for everyone’s love and support!,” Charles and Beth told People.
The big reveal from Dr. Pol
In a Dec. 29 post, Dr. Pol’s Twitter account posted the cryptic message, “We’re working on something really big! Stay tuned…”
That was it! No hints or any further information was provided. A curious fan posted the question, ‘@DrPol, que será?’ Meaning, ‘@DrPol, what could it be?’
Dr. Pol’s account again replied just as cryptically, “thedrpol.com,” with keep-your-eyes-peeled emojis.
Perhaps the big surprise is an overhauled website, as their present website is functional but a little clunky. Or, it could be an addition to the staff? Whatever it is, it sounds like something exciting that Pol fans will love.
NatGeo WILD loves the animal doctor as well; their message posted on the network’s web page says it all: “With more than 19,000 animal patients, Dr. Pol has seen it all.”
“Unflappable and unstoppable, this eccentric Dutch Doc seems like a fish out of water, but he regularly puts in 14-hour days traveling across rural America to care for every pet and head of livestock in need of his old school, no-nonsense approach to veterinary medicine.”
For now, fans will have to wait and see what this big news is!
