The Internet Just Can’t Stop Talking About DaBaby on ‘Saturday Night Live’
Rapper DaBaby is all everyone on the internet can talk about! Folks on social media are still buzzing about his Saturday Night Live performance and it’s just the latest in a big year for the Charlotte-bred performer.
DaBaby makes his ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut
DaBaby made his debut at a musical act on Saturday Night Live this weekend alongside host Jennifer Lopez. On the episode, he performed two of his hit singles, “Bop” and “Suge.” The former song is from his latest No. 1 album, Kirk. The latter song, a multiplatinum hit, is from his album from earlier this year, Baby on Baby.
In addition to performing, he appeared in one of the episode’s sketches called “Hip Hop Carolers.”
Fans are in love with DaBaby’s persona and performance
Fans on social media couldn’t stop discussing DaBaby’s performance.
“I’m loving the fact that he’s fully committed to delivering a show. The choreography. The production. The theatrics. This man is a star,” tweeted one person.
Someone else added, “This is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen on SNL, or on such a small stage. Friggin’ AWESOME.”
Even people who were not fans of the rapper were applauding him. One person said, “I don’t rock with his music at all but I respect that he knows how to put on a performance which a lot of these rappers absolutely cannot do to save their lives.”
DaBaby’s good deed from earlier this week
This Saturday Night Live performance caps of a banner week for the rapper, who was set to return to his hometown of Charlotte to perform at a show on Thursday. However, his jet broke down and he had to perform for the fans via FaceTime.
After he didn’t make it to the show, DaBaby vowed to make it up to his fans by throwing a free concert in his home city.
If this week proves anything, it is that DaBaby is one of the brightest performers out right now and a class act.
