DaBaby makes his ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut

DaBaby made his debut at a musical act on Saturday Night Live this weekend alongside host Jennifer Lopez. On the episode, he performed two of his hit singles, “Bop” and “Suge.” The former song is from his latest No. 1 album, Kirk. The latter song, a multiplatinum hit, is from his album from earlier this year, Baby on Baby.

In addition to performing, he appeared in one of the episode’s sketches called “Hip Hop Carolers.”

Fans are in love with DaBaby’s persona and performance

Fans on social media couldn’t stop discussing DaBaby’s performance.

“I’m loving the fact that he’s fully committed to delivering a show. The choreography. The production. The theatrics. This man is a star,” tweeted one person.

Someone else added, “This is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen on SNL, or on such a small stage. Friggin’ AWESOME.”

Even people who were not fans of the rapper were applauding him. One person said, “I don’t rock with his music at all but I respect that he knows how to put on a performance which a lot of these rappers absolutely cannot do to save their lives.”

DaBaby’s good deed from earlier this week

This Saturday Night Live performance caps of a banner week for the rapper, who was set to return to his hometown of Charlotte to perform at a show on Thursday. However, his jet broke down and he had to perform for the fans via FaceTime.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to make it my show in my OWN. city last night‍♂️ Paid extra for a jet just to make sure this type of shit wouldn’t happen. Although Baby a firm believer in everything happening for a reason I can’t get over the fact that I let my fans(FAMILY) down by not being able to make it. Thanks to my fast moving team and a few solid supporters at @power98fm we figured out a way to broadcast me live on the jumbo screen at the concert on a FaceTime call. #BDBENT Super Star @stunna4vegas held it down and explained to the audience what was goin on. Soon as they heard my voice and saw my face on the screen over a FaceTime call the whole arena turnt up! I just witnessed myself rock a coliseum through a FaceTime call No matter how it come off anybody that know me personally can tell you I’m one of the most humble people you could meet, especially being in the position I’m in and why I went through to get here. But last night I was humbled even more. God gave me the opportunity to show my city I’m NOT perfect. While at the same time showing me that I don’t gotta be perfect at all for my city to love and support me For the lessons taught through these unfortunate circumstances I’m forever grateful This type of shit don’t happen where we from, they usually would’ve tore that bitch down. But instead y’all helped me write another page in the history book last night. Preciate y’all for understanding From, Baby. #KeepYaTickets #FREEconcertOTW #CHARLOTTE Moments captured by: @ricodidit & @igot20onmybeat .

After he didn’t make it to the show, DaBaby vowed to make it up to his fans by throwing a free concert in his home city.

If this week proves anything, it is that DaBaby is one of the brightest performers out right now and a class act.
