The Mandalorian loses his speeder
The Mandalorian is still traveling on Tatooine when he gets his speeder caught in a trap. Everything flings off, including The Child and the newly required Mandalorian armor. The Mandalorian fights off most of the thugs with no problem, but one of them manages to grab the Child and hold a knife up to his throat.
The Mandalorian tells the raider he can take his pick of the wreckage, just don’t hurt Baby Yoda. The man decides on the Mandalorian’s jetpack and runs away, leaving the Child back in the Bounty Hunter’s arms — but the Mandalorian doesn’t forgive and forget that easily. He has the jetpack go flying, throwing the person off in the process.
With no speeder, the Bounty Hunter has to walk all the way back to his ship. The mechanic is playing cards when the Mandalorian finds her and explains that now he really doesn’t know where to find another Mandalorian. The person, or rather, the insect, she’s playing cards with has a contact that might help.
The Mandalorian picks up a new passenger
Back in the hanger, the Mandalorian learns that one person knows where some Mandalorians are but in exchange for the information, she needs a ride on his ship. This character has eggs with her, though, and she needs them fertilized by her husband pronto.
At the ship, the Child is mesmerized by the eggs. He manages to swipe one before the Mandalorian stops him and puts him to bed. Then, there are two “New Republic” ships asking the Mandalorian for a transmission.
Instead, the Mandalorian decides to run. He loses them on an ice planet but then his ships gets pulled into an ice structure and he passes out.
When he wakes up, the ship is frozen and so is his passenger. He goes to look for her eggs but can’t find them or the Child. He eventually finds them both, even though the Child had been snacking on a few.
This mother-to-be has a message for The Mandalorian
After finding some blankets he says they should all get to sleep but his companion has something to say. He can’t understand her language, but she decides to connect to the droid from season 1 which was hidden among the wreckage.
Now being able to communicate, she explains how important these eggs are to her and her husband. Isn’t he a Mandalorian? Don’t they always honor their word? Feeling a little guilty, the Mandalorian goes out in the cold to check out the damage on his ship.
Baby Yoda noticed that his passager, however, wandered off and found a hot spring. She put all of her eggs in there to keep warm but the Mandalorian explains he can’t keep them safe away from the ship.
While they’re gathering the eggs, Baby Yoda stumbles upon a new set of eggs. He opens one and eats the spider inside. Then, one spider egg hatches. Then another. Then another. A giant spider emerges from a nearby cave and it looks pretty angry.
The whole family of spiders chases them back to the ship and even get inside. Thankfully, the Mandalorian did a bit of work on his ship and tries to fly it out of there. The biggest spider lands directly on top of the ship, though, and stops it from going anywhere.
Just then, a giant blast kills the spider and all of its minions. It’s the two members of the New Republic. The Mandalorian goes outside and they explain that there’s a warrant out for his arrest. However, he’s been doing plenty of good deeds, as well. They agree to let him fix the ship so he can get out of their hair.
After some repairs, the ship is fixed enough to get them in the air. It’s pretty broken, but the Mandalorian goes to sleep as the Child steals one more egg for the long journey ahead.
