‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Fans Can Now Enjoy a Board Game Inspired by the Show

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is set to release its third season on Dec. 6, but superfans of the show will have a little something to tide them over until then. Amazon and Hasbro have announced that they are officially working together on a The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel board game, and it looks like its every bit as fun and captivating as the streaming platform’s decorated series.

What is the point of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel board game?

The new board game will be released as a version of the game of Life. In the game, players will race around the board aiming to become rich and famous in the process. Just like Midge, players will all be playing to become a famous comedian, but that path is not assured, just like in the real entertainment industry.

Players will also have a chance to get married, hit up open mic nights, have children and buy dream houses. The player who becomes a famous comedian first wins, but if no one manages to make it big on the comedy circuit, the player with the most money will be victorious.

Life: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Edition isn’t the first board game inspired by a TV show

While the upcoming The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is the most recent addition to the board game world, it’s far from the first show that has inspired a collaboration with Hasbro. Both Game of Thrones and Stranger Things have inspired Monopoly editions. The Walking Dead, Bob’s Burgers, and even The Golden Girls all have their own versions of the game, as well.

Hasbro has also recently released several themed versions of other games. A Riverdale edition of Clue is for sale as we speak. The Big Bang Theory, The Office, and The Walking Dead have all been honored with their own version of the board game. Clue, in particular, is enjoying something of a revival. A new movie based on the board game is currently in pre-production. Ryan Reynolds is signed onto the project.

The board game is available for pre-order now

Due to be released on Nov. 15, Amazon is currently taking pre-orders for the game. The release date is no surprise, either. With the third season of the famed show set to release on Dec. 6, it would make sense that fans would want to get their hands on the game ahead of the season premiere.

Big things are coming for Midge in Season 3. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Season 3 will see Midge take on Miami, among other career milestones. Those who have caught a glimpse of filming also note that Joel Maisel appears to play a pretty significant role in the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel spies haven’t found out what role Joel will be playing in the series, just yet. Thankfully, the wait for the board game and the show isn’t long now, so fans can rest easy. The next several weeks will fly by.
