‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Grants a Bucket List Wish for a Young Fan
Some people love The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond so much they’ve added meeting her to their bucket list. One young fan named Hazel did just that and her wish was granted. Here’s the sweet message Drummond posted about the fan.
Ree Drummond spent the day with a young fan at the Drummond ranch
Drummond recently posted a story on The Pioneer Woman blog about her time with a special young fan. Hazel, a fan Drummond described as “a remarkable child who’s been through a lot,” had her wish granted when she spent some time on the Drummond ranch. The Food Network star mentioned Hazel was connected with her through The Mack Impact organization. This is an Oklahoma-based organization that fulfills bucket-list wishes for local children with cancer. Mack Impact, which is named after Mackenzie Asher, an 11-year-old who passed away after battling Leukemia in 2017, also runs a youth volunteer program.
Ree Drummond’s visit with Hazel
Drummond wrote about the adorable Pioneer Woman fan who came to visit her. The Food Network star took Hazel on a tour of her establishment and showed her where she prepares meals for the show. “I have a new friend named Hazel who came to the ranch recently. When she arrived at the Lodge, I got to show her the kitchen. Since she watches The Pioneer Woman on TV, she was familiar with the layout,” wrote Drummond.
Drummond also took time to bake a cake with Hazel. “Lunch was already set to go, but I needed Hazel’s help to bake a cake, which as we all know is the most important part of lunch,” joked Drummond in her blog post. In addition, the duo made macaroni and cheese with chicken tacos. After the ranch tour, Hazel visited the bakery at The Mercantile, Charlie’s ice cream shop, and Drummond’s pizza shop, P-Town, where she helped make pizza.
Ree Drummond’s Mercantile is a bucket list item for many fans
A viewer of The Pioneer Woman placed The Mercantile on her bucket list for a very special reason. She said she was diagnosed with a life-changing illness and seeing The Pioneer Woman Mercantile in person is something she wants to do before she passes on. “I was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and I’ve started a bucket list. Staying at your hotel and going to the Merc are both high on the list.”
