Followers of ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Have a Lot to Say
Fans and followers of The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond took to Reddit to talk about their first impression of her and what they thought about her after watching the show regularly. Here’s what they had to say about the Food Network star.
One Ree Drummond fan said no one on television is real
Ree Drummond has faced a lot of criticism for not being authentic, but a fan on Reddit said critics should take a look around. The fan argued most people who appear on TV aren’t real and they put on a show for the camera. This fan felt it wasn’t fair for people to judge Drummond for not coming across as authentic:
How many people come across as “real” on television? The Food Network just makes them fill in so much stuff to pad the shows to make them more than just cooking demonstrations. They want people to connect, and, well, she’s a cook and her family are ranchers, not actors. Of course, it comes across as “fake.” I’m sure off camera they are much more “real.”
Another fan said Ree Drummond is loved because she has helpful products and recipes
Although Drummond has critics, she also has many fans. This fan praised Drummond for having easy recipes and plenty of products at the grocery store. The fan also said she learned a lot from The Pioneer Woman show but doesn’t think Drummond is “made for TV.” Here’s what she had to say:
Most people must love her because (at least at my grocery store) she’s got product everywhere! Salad dressing, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, and now frozen foods. Sometimes, she is bland to watch, but I remind myself that she wasn’t/isn’t made for TV. For me, she is a bit more of a homemade cook than the lovely Sandra Lee, but still lets me cut corners like Sandra Lee. Her recipes are pretty easy, family friendly, and often freezer friendly. This mama needs stuff like that, haha! So, I’ll deal with the bad acting and forced lines just so I can get more sheet pan recipes out of her.
What Ree Drummond has to say to people who doubt her authenticity
During an interview with Oklahoma Horizon TV, the host asked Drummond how she feels when people question her authenticity. Drummond defended herself by saying her authenticity is proven by the fact she has been living the ranch life for more than a decade. She doesn’t seem all that bothered by the naysayers. In fact, she has a good chuckle about it. Drummond says she finds it funny that people still question her authenticity after so many years. “This is my life for the past 20 years… I’ve been doing this for the past 20 years of my life, so it’s funny.”
