6 Things That Make ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Happy
Some people complain The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond smiles too much, but she has a lot to smile about. The Food Network star has her own show, restaurants, a line at Walmart, a hotel, and more. Here are a few more things Drummond says make her happy.
Butter makes Drummond smile. She has dedicated many blog posts to her love of butter. If you’ve watched any of Drummond’s shows, you know she likes to put a lot of butter in her food. She loves butter so much she even has a bread recipe that calls for one stick of butter on each half of a loaf of bread. Drummond’s love of butter runs deep. Back in 2013, she even partnered with Land O’Lakes.
2. Ladd Drummond
Ladd Drummond is high on the list when it comes to Ree Drummond’s source of happiness. One time she even dedicated a Pioneer Woman show to Ladd called “10 Things I Love About Ladd.” What does the “accidental country girl” love about Marlboro Man? She says she loves his eyes, his laugh, his parenting, and his good looks.
Drummond isn’t shy about displaying her love for Ladd, even if her children are present. In one funny clip for her Pioneer Woman at home series, she takes a moment to compliment Ladd’s outfit and tell him how “sexy” he looks.
Drummond is a big fan of eyeliner. She often makes fun of herself for wearing so much of it.
4. ‘Blousy tops’
Drummond calls the long, flowy tops she likes to wear “blousy tops.” She tells her fans she wears these tops because they disguise her tummy.
If you’ve spent just a small amount of time on Drummond’s website or social media accounts, you’ll figure out quickly that she loves dogs. Her late basset hound Charlie even has his own book series and an ice cream shop named after him.
In the fall 2019 issue of The Pioneer Woman magazine, Drummond explains she loves basset hounds because they remind her of her childhood. Here’s what she told a reader in her Q and A:
My first dog, when I was 3 years old, was a basset hound. And a basset hound was the first dog Ladd and I got as a married couple. I’ve loved basset hounds all my life! Their excess skin, floppy ears, droopy eyes and hilarious personalities keep me entertained and make my heart leap.
Drummond loves her dogs, but she also has a weakness for cats. In a blog post titled “Why I Love My Cat,” she sings the praises of her orange and white barn cat, Kitty Kitty (the cat in the picture above is Kitten Kitten). Cats aren’t known for being affectionate, but Drummond says her cat is different.
Drummond tells her readers Kitty Kitty is a kind, loving cat. “He’s the opposite of aloof,” writes Drummond in The Pioneer Woman blog. “He’s sweet. He’s affectionate. He’s gentle and lets me rub his abdomen. He eats dog food.” Kitty Kitty also hunts down mice. Drummond was overjoyed that he caught 17 mice at the time she wrote that post. She ends her blog post by writing, “I’ve never been happier in my life.”
