The Real Reason Cardi B and Offset Are Getting Divorced
After one year of marriage, Cardi B and her Migos rapper husband Offset have called it quits. The hip-hop stars married secretly in September 2017 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kulture Kiari in July 2018. There has been a ton of media speculation surrounding the couple, allegations of infidelities, and everything in between. However, despite the naysayers, the pair seemed determined to stick it out. Just a few days ago, the “Bodack Yellow” rapper shared a photo of herself and her husband kissing at a Lakers Basketball game, so their break up has seemingly come out of nowhere.
So what is the real reason Cardi B and Offset are calling it quits?
No longer in love
Cardi B shocked the world when she announced on Instagram in December 2018 that she and Offset are no longer a couple. In a video, the red-headed fashionista said,
So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. We are really good friends and we are really good business partners— you know he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.” It’s nobody fault I guess we just grew out of love but we are not together anymore. I don’t know it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.
Offset responded to the video by simply writing, “Y’all won.”
Unfortunately, Offset has been at the center of more than one cheating scandal during his relationship with the Bronx native. In early 2018, Offset was at the center of a sex-tape scandal, but his then-pregnant wife decided to stick by him. In a now-deleted tweet she wrote, “I’m going to make a decision in my own times with my heart and mind. I don’t need to be rushed or be told what to do. It’s my life! I belong to me not the world.”
This wasn’t the first time the Invasion of Privacy artist defended her marriage. In another post she wrote, “Well if people are talking about it and keep asking me how i feel about the situation why not let them know? Right or wrong? No it’s not right for a n—a to cheat… But what you want me to do? Go f–k me another n—a? start all over again and get cheated on again? This s— happens to everyone and i be too You too… People handle they relationship different so…”
A rushed romance
Though the Migos rapper proposed to Cardi B on Oct. 28, 2017 onstage at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia with a massive 8-carat, pear-shaped halo diamond, it was later revealed that they had actually wed the month prior. A month before welcoming Kulture, Cardi B revealed, “There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other, was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married.”
Is this all a publicity stunt?
Since everything appeared to be fine between the pair just a few days ago, many fans of the couple aren’t buying this breakup. In fact, some folks believe that it’s all a prank. After all the pair got engaged after they were already married. However, with the fame, infidelity, money, and everything else, it would certainly be a strain on any marriage.
