The Real Reason Kate Hudson Is Partnering With Weight Watchers
There are plenty of celebrities who are passionate about their health and wellness, and over the years, Kate Hudson has proven to be one of them. Thanks to her Fabletics line, fans of the celebrity can wear affordable athleisure apparel that’s perfect for even their toughest workouts. And Hudson isn’t shy about her own struggles with health and fitness, either, which is why she’s making her latest announcement. Not only is she continuing her line of workout clothes, but she’s also partnering with WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) and joining the long list of celebrity ambassadors who recommend the program.
So, why is Hudson suddenly joining the WW crew? Here’s what she’s said.
Hudson loves the community aspect of WW
WW differs greatly from other dieting programs, as it’s not just about the individual journey for losing weight. Instead, it involves a group setting that focuses on establishing healthy habits, dropping pounds safely, and celebrating in each other’s successes. For this reason, it’s something Hudson would love to be a part of.
As Hudson said on her Instagram, “I’ve become an Ambassador for the WW family because it is the perfect community for people to live healthy their own way and I love sharing this knowledge with you all!” She also mentioned that it’s not just about the weight loss for her, but rather, “this is a community about supporting each other through a life long journey of wellness.”
She also has weight loss goals of her own

So…here we go! The routine with our baby is getting more familiar and I’m ready to start taking a little time in the day focusing on myself. For me that means my health. Why? Because I wanna be around a long time for these three kiddos of mine. I know that some are curious about what that means and for all you moms (wether working or not working moms) it is the most challenging thing in the world to balance kids and personal time. Let’s be honest, kids take the number one position and it’s haaaaard to make the time for yourself. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’ve spent my life time trying all kinds of new things that are focused on health and wellness. Because I am on a mission right now to get back to my fighting weight ;) and my strong body/mind back I want to bring you in on some of this journey. If you want to follow a more in-depth of my to-dos, @prettyhappy will be posting all kinds of fun tidbits from exercises we are loving to foods/recipes we ❤️ and meditation practices I just can’t live without ♀️ MY GOAL: I will be shooting a film in the spring and I’m looking to shed 25lbs. I’d like to try new workouts and eat as healthy as I can. I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work everyday, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane! I know that this sounds more like a new year resolution but after Thanksgiving and everyone thanking their health, I feel motivated to keep that up. Much love and hope everyone’s Having an amazing start to the holidays!
While Hudson wants to be here to help others celebrate their bodies and get to their goal weight, she also has her own desires to bring the scale number down. In an interview with People, the actress mentioned that after having three babies, it can be tough to make time for yourself and get your health back. For that reason, becoming a WW ambassador just a few months after having her third child was ideal. “It came at a perfect time for me, because at this point after having three babies it’s like sense memory. You want to start getting back into shape and to get strong again and focus on your own personal health,” she told People. She’s also mentioned she has a goal of losing 25 pounds before filming a new movie in the spring.
As for how she gets back into shape after giving birth, Hudson notes she’s all about balance. “I don’t think it’s as much about changing anything, as it is about knowledge of the things that you love,” she said. “This is about understanding your wellness. It’s about understanding your fitness activity, understanding your food, understanding the things that you love.” And now that she’s an ambassador for the company, she can help others understand how to adjust their own habits, too.
Oprah Winfrey has already welcomed her to the club

Health and wellness is my number one and I always say that what works for me doesn’t work for everyone. I believe that we need to celebrate diversity in how each individual wants to celebrate their bodies. We aren’t all going to enjoy the same work outs, outdoor activities, foods etc. I’ve become an Ambassador for the WW family because it is the perfect community for people to live healthy their own way and I love sharing this knowledge with you all! This is not a community for people who just want to lose weight, although leading a healthy lifestyle lends itself to such, this is a community about supporting each other through a life long journey of wellness. I’m so happy to share this with everyone and I have to say, having @oprah on my call list was a dream come true! Love you O #WwAmbassador #ad #WellnessThatWorks @ww
There are plenty of notable names in the WW community — and one of them is Oprah Winfrey. We saw on Hudson’s Instagram that Winfrey sent her a video call welcoming her to the group, and Hudson could not have been more thrilled. And when Winfrey asked the star why she decided to join the brand, she admitted that her “‘why’ is really my kids, and my family, and longevity and wanting to be here as long as I possibly can. It’s really about the holistic approach to wellness.”
Hudson has held Winfrey in high regard in the past, too. E! News notes she’s called Winfrey “forever, that woman” when it comes to being the face of wellness, happiness, and light. We’re excited to see if the two collaborate with WW for special promos and products, too, since they’re big fans of each other.
