When news spread that Liam Hemsworth was in the hospital, many fans wondered what happened to the actor. Few details were initially available, as the news first gained attention when his Isn’t It Romantic co-star Rebel Wilson explained why he wasn’t at an interview on Sunday.

The actress noted at the time: “He texted us this morning. He was in hospital overnight, so hopefully he will be fine.”

Fans were understandably concerned, especially since there was so little known. Everything became much clearer when Hemsworth’s wife, Miley Cyrus, showed up to the Isn’t It Romantic premiere on behalf of the actor. While he was unable to attend the Grammys with her because he was in the hospital, she was more than happy to step up and show her support at his premiere.

Cyrus shared photos from the event on her Instagram account as well as gave more of an explanation about Hemsworth’s absence.

Mrs. Hemsworth was stunning in a ruffly and flowing dramatic red gown with matching lip color, her hair pulled up in a high ponytail.

What happened to Liam Hemsworth?

A source told PEOPLE that Hemsworth “was briefly hospitalized,” and “at home resting and will be fine.” The site confirmed that he is recovering from kidney stones.

Cyrus gave a bit more insider information, however, sharing snaps from the event and writing: “So proud of my hunky hubby @liamhemsworth & his newest movie #IsntItRomantic. He unfortunately wasn’t able to attend due to health reasons… but he is recovering and taking this time to rest / heal.”

She added a bit of perspective as well, sharing: “It’s hard for entertainers to put themselves before the project but this time it was crucial … I am proud to represent him and his incredible work. So happy to see him shining in this comedy! He is the funniest person I know, and the world now gets to see the Liam I wake up to every day… luckiest.”

In one Instagram post, she simply noted “I did it for @liamhemsworth (but I also did it for @maisonvalentino,” while another photo of her standing in front of a pic of Hemsworth playing a saxophone got this playful caption: “Getting sick blows. But so do I. Get well soon babe. I love you. Play that sax you sexy f**k.”

Hemsworth explains all on Instagram

While Hemsworth wasn’t too specific about what exactly he is recovering from, he did share photos from the movie premiere and gave a shout out to his wife.

Hemsworth explained in the caption for the photos: “Sorry I couldn’t make it to the @isntitromantic premier tonight guys. Been dealing with some pretty annoying health stuff the last couple days. Lucky I have the best girl in the world to represent for me! Thanks for the support babe! I hope everyone enjoys the movie! It’s a perfect Valentine’s Day flick so if ya ain’t got nothin better to do then go see it! Love to all!”
