Who needs a professional film crew when you have a phone right at your disposal.
Amid the current coronavirus pandemic, many shows and movie productions have been put on hold to ensure the safety of everyone on set. Fortunately for us, the Kardashians aren’t letting social-distancing practices stop them from filming content for their show.
Instead of putting Keeping Up With the Kardashians production on hold until further notice, the famous family is putting their savvy camera skills to use by filming the entire Season 18 finale episode with just their phones.
The Kardashians are currently filming a special edition of ‘KUWTK’
Production for Keeping Up With the Kardashians may be shut down at the moment, but that doesn’t mean filming for the show has stopped.
Since the Kardashians are so handy with their trusty cell phones, they’ve decided to film the Season 18 finale episode themselves using nothing by some good lighting and massive amounts of cloud storage .
Kim Kardashian West revealed this family game plan while joining Jimmy Fallon on Mar. 30, via video chat, for his first televised episode of The Tonight Show: Home Edition.
“We filmed the entire season except for the last episode,” the SKIMS founder told the Tonight Show host. “So now that we’ve shut down production, it’ll be all of us in quarantine filmed separately by ourselves.”
According to Kardashian West, everyone in the family will document their daily household activities during this current government-mandated quarantine.
They even have filming equipment set up in their homes, so KUWTK fans will be able to see exactly what each member of this famous bunch has been up to while social-distancing.
“We have tripods set up, and our iPhones, and the whole last episode will be what we do in quarantine,” she continued. “I’ll get to see what Khloé’s doing — I mean, I literally have no idea what everyone else has been doing!”
The reality stars miss being together
Though there’s been some tension between the Kardashian sisters recently, Kardashian West admits that she and her siblings miss each other tremendously.
Since they are such a close-knit family, the reality star has found it hard being away from family and admits that this quarantine has been a tough adjustment.
“I was organizing my photos in my phone and found this and miss my sisters but we are all social distancing and staying away from each other all separately self quarantined,” Kardashian West captioned an Instagram photo of herself and Khloé Kardashian. “It’s hard but we have to do this for our safety and for everyone else’s.”
While it’s difficult being apart from each other, the famous bunch has been endeavoring to stay connected via video chat. Not only so they can see each other frequently, but so their kids can do the same.
“It’s been really hard,” the KKW mogul recently said during a video interview with The View. “We do Zoom dinners where we all make our plate and get on. We’re on a group family chat all the time, FaceTiming my grandma, my sisters. It has been really challenging. It was just really good to see Kylie this morning even for a second when she was doing my makeup and everything we wanted to catch up on.”
She added, “Our kids haven’t seen each other — the cousins haven’t played together, so that’s been very different for them too,” she added. “We’re so close, we’re so used to hanging out.”
While there’s no telling when this lockdown will be lifted, it appears that the Kardashians are making the best out of being in self-isolation. And soon, we’ll see just how well this tackled social distancing in KUWTK: Quarantine Edition!
