Life as the world knows it is quickly changing and adapting in order to combat COVID-19, or, at least, it should be. Unfortunately, the public has already realized not everyone is joining the nation in these essential and crucial efforts.

When it comes to COVID-19 the headlines and media coverage are endless. However, a lot of people and media are discussing how the younger population has been reacting to the global pandemic.

From spring break parties to basketball games, there has been an abundance of troubling news stories and images surfacing showing the public directly defying those orders.

Not to mention, as time continues to go the data and evidence are indicating that younger people are at a greater risk than they initially believed.

Why is the Surgeon General of the United States asking Kylie Jenner for help?

Just a few days ago the Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Jerome Adams, made a unique statement during Good Morning America in light of the global pandemic.

When speaking with the hosts of the popular ABC news show Adams’s pleas were loud and clear. His statements and comments reinforced his intentions. In hopes to gain the support of all the public nationwide, he said, “We need to get our social media influencers out there in helping folks understand that this is serious. This is absolutely serious.”

Adams is hoping that by calling on influencers to emphasize his message and the importance of COVID-19 that the nation will have a better chance of reaching the younger individuals who seem to be not taking this very seriously.

Many people were eager to put the blame on millennials, but after a closer look, it seems to be Generation Z that is demonstrating a worrisome amount of ignorance and carelessness. That is why Adams’ specifically asked Kylie Jenner to assist him in this critical endeavor.

What is Kylie Jenner saying about COVID-19?

When Adams reached out to Jenner she was happy to use her platform and clout to help the nation during this crucial time. On her Instagram account, Jenner was seen asking her followers and supporters for their assistance. She reiterates in her posts that COVID-19 is real and it must be taken seriously.

In a video, she was seen saying, “Practice social distancing, self-quarantine. If you live with your parents, you don’t want to go home, get your parents sick. You might have it and not even know and be infecting other people.”

Adams anticipates that the nation can cut back on some of the frivolous and unnecessary socializing by asking for the support of influencers such as Jenner.
