The Sweet Way Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Really Deal With Bad Press

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no stranger to bad press. No matter what they do, it seems like there is a new story about the couple every week. The Duchess of Sussex, in particular, has been getting the brunt of the attention with constant talk about her family and whether or not she is too private

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently completed a tour of Africa. While everything appeared to go great, the couple did take a stand to show that they are not going to put up with the abuse anymore. But while the couple may be taking legal action, realistically, the press is going to continue to attack. And if you’re curious how they deal with the bad press on an emotional level, a recent report may offer some valuable insight.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan recently completed a tour of Africa where they spent 10 days traveling 15,000 miles across the continent. During the trip, the couple was able to talk to local residents, visit numerous charities, and support causes close to their hearts.

One stop that stood out from the rest was a visit to Dirico, Angola where Prince Harry was able to follow in his mother’s footsteps and bring awareness to the dangers of land mines. The couple finished their trip with each of them delivering inspirational speeches to the citizens of Tembisa.

Prince Harry told the crowd: “We will always seek to challenge injustice and to speak out for those who may feel unheard,” he later continued, “We believe in you, and we intend to spend our entire lives making sure you have the opportunity to succeed – and to change the world.”

When it comes to the negative press, the royal family usually chooses to stay quiet. In the past, the couple has ignored stories that discussed Markle’s family or questioned the couple’s use of private planes. However, things recently reached a breaking point.

In an emotional statement, Prince Harry wrote: “I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person,” he continued, “I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

The duke went on to say that dealing with the press has been extremely painful. The lawsuit against Mail on Sunday alleges that the newspaper edited and published a letter from Markle to her father to mislead readers. The letter was written by the duchess to her father in the weeks proceeding the couple’s 2018 wedding.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lean on each other for support

Dealing with the stress that comes from the media is a big stress on the couple, but it’s not one that they are going to let drive them apart. A source close to the couple told People Magazine that the duke and duchess lean on each other when things get tough. The source later added that they are always on the same page, noting: “They are a unit. She’s just focusing on what she and Harry are trying to accomplish and not be distracted.”

The couple isn’t going to let the negative press interfere with the family’s happiness. Five months after the birth of Baby Archie, the couple is still glowing. During their Africa trip the two were constantly seen smiling and obviously had fun showing off their bundle of joy.

There’s no doubt that family is important to Prince Harry and Markle. With Prince Harry’s experience with the media, the couple is taking the steps to make sure they protect themselves from anyone who is a threat to their family unit.
