The Teen Mom’s Business Failures: A Look Back
While the cast of Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 have been gracing the small screen for years, many of them have branched out and tried their hand at other business ventures. Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, and Amber Portwood have all tried their hands in the business world, but unfortunately, none of them have been successful. Abraham has shuttered several retail shops in recent months, and Catelynn and Tyler have seemingly abandoned their children’s clothing brand. So, which teen moms have been the least successful in the business world?
Farrah Abraham faces lawsuits for unpaid rent on several businesses
Abraham attempted to launch several business ventures after her run on Teen Mom OG ended. The mother of one launched an adult entertainment career, before taking her business know-how in a different direction. The 27-year-old kicked off a string of retail ventures with a frozen yogurt brand, then expanded her business empire into children’s clothing and home décor, but things didn’t work out all that well.
Abraham has shuttered several of her storefronts. In February 2019, TMZ reported that the Texas resident was being sued for over $100,000 in back rent. Apparently, Abraham signed a multi-year lease but reneged on her rent when she shut down the businesses. Abraham had claimed she was trying to get the frozen yogurt brand into food retailers, but nothing has come of it.
Portwood’s Forever Haute has been plagued by customer complaints
Forever Haute, a clothing company founded by Amber Portwood has been problematic from the get-go. Not only have customers complained about the quality of Portwood’s items, but some have even accused the teen mom of purchasing items from other retailers then selling them at a markup.
The problems with Forever Haute don’t stop there, though. Portwood has failed to file the necessary paperwork to keep her business running in her home state. While some fans surmise that she’s completely abandoned the venture, an inside source alleges that Portwood is planning to reinvent Forever Haute completely. The busy mom is rumored to be working on rebranding as we speak.
Tyler and Catelynn abandoned Tierra Reign and haven’t spoken of it since
Tierra Reign seemed like a good idea. Fans were thrilled with the products that Caitlynn and Tyler offered through their online children’s clothing boutique, but something strange happened back in September 2018. The couple stopped updating their website. Not only did they fail to produce new products for the holiday season, but they weren’t even restocking well-selling items already listed on the site. The couple, who have weathered several storms in recent years, haven’t posted to the company’s social media profiles since September 2018.
It was recently reported that the pair have also failed to file the paperwork needed to keep the company in good standing with the state. They have until February 2020 to get their paperwork up to date, but since they aren’t updating the website, it seems like the company is no more.
