On Feb. 2, 2022, Netflix premiered the documentary The Tinder Swindler. It tells the story of fraudster Simon Leviev, who developed relationships with women only to con them out of huge amounts of money.

After the documentary came out, an alleged victim from the United Kingdom came forward and even made public comments about what Leviev was like in bed.

How many victims did Simon Leviev have?

The Tinder Swindler features three victims of Leviev: Cecilie Fjellhøy from Norway, Pernilla Sjöholm from Sweden, and Ayleen Charlotte from The Netherlands. The documentary also mentioned that Leviev conned people from other countries such as Finland, Germany, and his home country of Israel.

According to Vanity Fair, the film’s director noted that 31-year-old Leviev has been engaging in frauds since he was a teenager. As such, the full list of his victims might not be known.

An alleged victim said Simon Leviev ‘was a total flop’ in the bedroom

Recently one woman from the U.K. came forward and claimed she was also a victim of Leviev. Samantha Hales is a 36-year-old mother from Derby, England, who alleged that she met Leviev in 2012 on the dating app Plenty of Fish. She told The Sun that the two of them dated for a month, during which time Leviev claimed that he was a Mossad spy and pilot.

“He put me up in a five-star hotel in Valencia when I was on holiday there,” Hales said. “He started telling me that he was a part of Mossad. Every time I tried to delve a little bit deeper, he was very shady. He said ‘look I can’t tell you all the details’.”

She added, “Then he pulled out these plastic identity cards. You could tell they were fake. They had his picture with Interpol written on it. It just looked terrible. Then he flipped after he said he was on the run. He became really nasty to me because I questioned him. He told all my friends that I’d stolen money from him.”

Hales also alleged that Leviev “was a total flop” in the bedroom.

“He must have really improved his game in the last ten years to get money out of these girls,” she said. “He couldn’t pull any strokes in the bedroom. He was a total flop. I had to show him the ropes. Even though he had this beautiful charm about him, he was extremely cold when it came to sex. He had no idea what he was doing.”

The Tinder Swindler has captivated people around the world and made some question how a person could operate in the way that Leviev did. According to Sjöholm, who had a platonic relationship with Leviev for months, the swindler does not feel empathy and would take advantage of people who do.

“It could happen to anyone who has empathy,” she said of the scams (via Page Six). “Those are the ones that they [grifters] target. Someone, for example, who doesn’t have empathy, he [Leviev] has a disorder. He doesn’t feel empathy. So for a person like me and Cecilie [Fjellhøy] … [we] have a lot of empathy for other people. We are very easy targets.”
