Whoopi Goldberg denied the rumor that Joy Behar and Meghan McCain don’t like each other

Behar and McCain aren’t afraid to argue their different points of view on the show. Sometimes it seems like it gets so personal that many fans believe they don’t like each other.

Goldberg was recently asked to address any misconceptions about their relationship this on Watch What Happens Live. “I don’t know, I don’t think about it,” she answered.

Host Andy Cohen mentioned the rumor that they don’t like each other. “No, listen, if they didn’t like each other, they would not be on TV together, I’m just sort of saying,” she said. “I don’t really think about their relationship. I’m actually thinking strictly about myself.”

Things got uncomfortable once again on The View on the Oct. 29th episode. That’s because they were talking about National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman testifying about President Trump’s call with Ukraine’s president and why he reported it to his superior.

The discussion took a turn when McCain mentioned Fox News’ Laura Ingraham questioned Vindman’s loyalty. She started talking about how “any veteran deserves our respect.” She claimed there is a trend of criticizing them and referred to Hillary Clinton. Behar defended Clinton, which led to an argument.

Goldberg eventually interrupted them. She told them to “just take a breath.” She added, “Everybody has something to say at the table, we really do want to hear from everybody, but we’re starting to do that thing,” she said.

McCain responded with, “I don’t know what that means, ‘that thing.'” Goldberg clarified that she meant talking over each other. When McCain threw back that this is The View, the moderator had something else to say.

“It is The View. You know what, let me tell you something about The View,” she said. “This show has always had the ability to have different points of view, which we respect around the table.”

She continued, “And when we talk to each other, we also exhibit respect. So when I’m saying to you, ‘Hold up, because we’re not hearing each other,’ I’m not trying to cut you off — I’m trying to get you heard.”

This was met by applause by the live audience. She then cut to a commercial break.

Many fans are cheering Goldberg on

Some fans weren’t happy with McCain mentioning Clinton during the discussion. However, some of them took to Twitter to share their reactions to Goldberg taking control of the situation.

This isn’t the first time things also got heated between Goldberg and McCain. McCain previously snapped at the Oscar winner for laughing at her. Goldberg also told her to not to be “so dismissive” of other people’s views.
