‘The View’ Fans Want Meghan McCain Fired After Whoopi Goldberg Blowout

Meghan McCain and Whoopi Goldberg had a huge blowout on The View this week after the latter told the former to stop talking. The show’s moderator had enough of the conservative co-host that she shut her down in a moment that went viral. Social media exploded and all the press turned to the ABC talk show to analyze what happened between McCain and Goldberg.

The ladies of the show were talking about impeachment when things got out of hand. Sunny Hostin was noting the hypocrisy in the Republican-led Senate when McCain tried to make her own point. In doing so, the conservative personality reminded all of her co-hosts and viewers what her job on the show is.

“My job here is not to litigate the ethics of it. I’m an ABC political analyst along with being a View co-host, my job is to analyze the politics of it…,” McCain said.

As the panelists talked over each other, Goldberg tried to put order on the table but McCain threw in a snarky remark that sent the comedian over the edge.

“Do you want to hear a conservative perspective on the show ever?” McCain snarked.

“Girl, please stop talking right now,” Goldberg said.

“No problem,” McCain responded. “I won’t talk for the rest of the show.”

“I’m ok with that,” Goldberg added to audible gasps from the audience. “If you’re going to behave like this…”

Things were to tense that Goldberg had to cut to a commercial break to let everyone calm down.

Fans call for Meghan McCain’s firing

Viewers that watch the show regularly have been witnesses to the tantrums McCain throws on consistently. Fans are upset that the conservative co-host continues to disrespect Goldberg as the moderator, who is a veteran of the show. Loyal viewers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations against McCain.

“Fire Meghan as a Christmas [gift] to your viewers,” a fan said. “We had to endure her childish tantrums all year long.”

“Meghan McCain just sucks the air out of you, just like Trump,” a viewer added. “Please, please, fire this woman. Enough with her.”

“When are they going to fire Meghan?” another fan asked. “She is ruining the show. I know she has a right to her opinions but it’s the presentation that devalues all she has to say. Whoopi should not have to chastise her like a child all the time.”

“There are better, more intelligent, more coherent female conservative voices out there. Find [them] and fire Meghan,” another viewer suggested.

“We are all Whoopi Goldberg today,” a Twitter user commented. “Meghan McCain stop talking completely. The View needs to fire, hateful, Meghan McCain. She is rude to guests, co-hosts, audience, and viewers.”

‘The View’ address controversy

The following day, Goldberg addressed the fight at the beginning of the hour.

“Things get heated on this show,” Goldberg explained. “If you watch this show, you know this has happened over the years. We’re really passionate. This is our jobs. We come in, we talk to each other, sometimes we’re not as polite as we could be. That’s just the way it is. But you’re going to be dealing with the same thing when you sit around your table with your family and you don’t agree, or somebody says something and goes off the rails. This is part of what we do.”

McCain said that she only had love for her fellow co-host as she and her father were friends.

“I love you very much. I’ve loved you for a long time,” McCain told Golberg. “You were good friends with my dad. We fight like we’re family. It’s all good. We’re not tearing the set apart. Calm down, all of you, okay? It’s all good… I think it is a lens into what’s happening politically in the country. America’s at very heated levels right now and I don’t love it. But it is representative of what’s going on and it is raw and real. We are all passionate women. I am hyper, hyper-conservative, everybody else at the table is not. Sometimes we’re going to clash heads.”

The View is off on hiatus for the holidays but will return to ABC in 2020.
