‘The View’: Joy Behar Yells at Meghan McCain and Fans Are Loving It
Joy Behar filled in as moderator on The View in the absence of Whoopi Goldberg. The OG co-host has been with the show since its inception and knows how to run things. However, Meghan McCain believes she can interrupt her fellow panelists at any time and continues to disrespect the moderator role. In another heated exchange, Behar had no other choice but to yell back at McCain and fans were here for it.
The ladies get extremely passionate when discussing politics and as they tackled on the impeachment hearings, things got a little hot. McCain feels that Congress is essentially wasting their time in trying to oust Donald Trump out of office. Instead, the conservative co-hosts suggest to focus on swing states in the presidential election and vote Trump out.
After McCain made her point, Sunny Hostin asked Behar to continue the conversation in the next segment as she knew they had to wrap up for commercials. When the show’s moderator tried to make a last statement to queue the break, McCain continued interrupting her making Behar yell at her.
“We have to go, we have to go. When we come back we can continue this,” Behar said. “All I’m saying is that the Republican party…”
Behar lost her thought as McCain continued to make snarky remarks and played up to the audience.
“No matter what the American people believe and what percentages you threw out there,” Behar added before McCain interjected exclaiming CNN was her source.
“Excuse me!” Behar yelled at McCain and finished off her thought to shoot to break.
Fans support Joy Behar
Following Behar’s outburst, the official The View channel on YouTube uploaded the debate. Hundreds of comments started pouring in and most were in support of the comedian shutting down McCain.
“I love it when Joy and Sunny check Meghan,” a fan replied on YouTube.
“I love when Auntie Joy yells, ‘excuse me,’ to baby Meghan,” another viewer wrote.
“The more Joy and Sunny push back on Meghan’s tired yammering, the more she looks to the audience for validation. It’s not working,” a YouTube user wrote.
“I would not have blamed Joy one bit if she had removed a shoe and chucked it at Meghan’s head. My God, she’s childish,” another fan observed.
“Meghan, learn to behave yourself, stop interrupting people. This is not Fox News,” read a comment on YouTube.
“That’s right Joy, shut Meghan the mouth down and out,” read another YouTube comment.
Is there bad blood between Joy Behar and Meghan McCain?
Despite their on-air feuds, McCain and Behar claim to be good friends. They both said in an interview that they have helped each other become more moderate on certain topics.
“We’re both becoming a little bit more, um, not moderate, but we’ve sort of become… Like, we’re not so adamant about our positions,” Behar said in an interview with ET. “Like today, I was talking about how, you know, I think a moderate needs to win the election to beat [President Donald] Trump. Originally, I would say I wanted Elizabeth Warren because she was new stuff and she was exciting. But I’m not sure that she could pull it off. So, now I’m in reality again and I think you have changed your positions a little bit, moderated them, modified.”
McCain also revealed that she doesn’t like all the rumors that point to a salty relationship with Behar as they are both friends off the show.
“It really hurts my feelings!” McCain said of feuding rumors with Behar. “It genuinely hurts my feelings because our dressing rooms are next door to each other and you and I have the same emotional reaction to things — sometimes in different ways — but we’re both upset equally, the equal amount of the same things. And I wish people would give us a break, for real.”
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT.
