‘The View’: Meghan McCain Does Not ‘Feel Bad’ For Kourtney Kardashian
It isn’t often that the ladies of The View find common ground, but they managed to all come together and agree on the July 9th episode of the show. Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Abby Huntsman, Meghan McCain, and Whoopi Goldberg usually draw viewers in every day through their candid and interesting responses to various topics of the week, but more often than not, their conversations turn into a confrontation. Usually, McCain, the resident Republican, and Behar, the outspoken liberal, find themselves on opposite ends of an issue. But this time, when faced with a story about the eldest Kardashian sister, the two co-hosts found themselves in complete agreement.
What have Joy Behar and Meghan McCain disagreed on in the past?
Normally, McCain, the daughter of the late, distinguished senator John McCain, and Behar, a longtime political commentator and television personality, disagree on anything and everything. The two have become especially well known for their loud altercations, which often end with panel moderator Goldberg silencing them both and cutting to commercial break. In mid-June, the two had an especially heated exchange which ended with McCain calling Behar a “bitch” and rousing the audience to respond with boos and whistles.
In spite of what seems to be a tense relationship, McCain has assured viewers that offscreen, she and Behar actually get along quite well. Whether or not they are good friends when the cameras aren’t rolling, the two proved that they do occasionally see eye to eye on the July 9th episode of The View.
Kourtney Kardashian dreads getting older
On The View, the hosts regularly discuss celebrity news in addition to politics and world news. One of their hot topics related to Kourtney Kardashian, and how she was seen in a clip from Keeping Up with the Kardashians crying about turning 40. In the clip, Kardashian admitted that getting older made her question where she is at in life and that it gives her anxiety. She also tearily stated that she “has so much” and that she should be happy.
The clip is a sneak peek into the newest season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and was filmed prior to her 40th birthday in April. As to how Kardashian goes on to deal with the pressures of her big birthday, viewers will have to wait and see when the new season premieres in a few months. However, The View panelists had plenty to say about the clip.
‘The View’ panel was in agreement about the Kardashian drama
Every single one of the hosts found the clip to be uncomfortable, with Goldberg pretending to slide dramatically from her chair onto the floor. McCain tried to give the other hosts some insight into Kardashian’s backstory and claimed that she actually watches their show regularly. But McCain also agreed that the clip was “a bad look” for Kardashian, who is of course, quite wealthy. McCain shook her head disapprovingly and said that some people can’t feed their children, so it’s in bad taste for Kardashian to be complaining when she has all the advantages in the world.
Behar mused that Kardashian’s complaints didn’t make sense, as the reality star had stated that she wanted more time but that she was miserable. Behar jokingly asked: “Then what do you want more time for?” However, Behar did say that sometimes privilege can’t buy happiness and that if you aren’t happy on the inside, you won’t be happy in life, “no matter how big your behind is.”
Whether or not this rare moment of agreement signals a new dawn for the panelists of The View remains to be seen but stayed tuned for all the latest updates.
