‘The View’: Meghan McCain Leaves Fans Furious Demanding an Apology After Saying This

Meghan McCain infuriated fans of The View after making a claim against Nancy Pelosi. The conservative co-host said she had an issue with Speaker Pelosi selling a sweatshirt with the hashtag #DontMessWithNancy. This phrase became a trending topic after Pelosi clapped back at a reporter that insinuated she hated Donald Trump.

“This is very serious,” McCain said. “We’re talking about the Constitution. We’re talking about impeachment. And for me, it reduces it—it’s very reductive to start selling sweatshirts that say #DontMessWithNancy.”

When Joy Behar interjected with a joke about Trump selling “Make America Great Again” hats, McCain completely shut down.

“You know what, I’m just trying to make a point. And I’ve never worn a MAGA hat. I think you know better than anybody I’d never wear a MAGA hat,” McCain said upset.

When Sunny Hostin asked McCain where she was getting her information from, the Republican refused to answer. She instead chose to pout, cross her arms, and remove herself from the debate throwing another tantrum.

Fans demand an apology

There is no verifiable source as to where McCain’s information was coming from. T-shirts with the hashtag have been found online but they are not directly attached to Pelosi. After fans researched the web and found nothing, they asked for McCain to apologize.

“I don’t see anywhere on the internet that Pelosi is selling t-shirts that say, ‘Don’t mess with me.’ Meghan should have to verify where she got that info,” a fan suggested.

The View and Meghan McCain should issue an apology because Speaker Pelosi is not selling those t-shirts. This is a very important time in our country and spreading misinformation like that is unacceptable,” a viewer tweeted.

“Apologize Meghan!” one Twitter user added. “Also learn to take a joke. Joy is a comedian. Stop getting angry over dumb stuff.”

“Jesus Christ Meghan, can you say anything factual? Nancy has better things to do than create a t-shirt,” another fan said.

“Meghan McCain is wrong. Nancy Pelosi isn’t selling t-shirts. T-shirt companies seize the opportunity to sell shirts. It’s not coming from her. Come on Meghan, tell the truth,” another viewer commented.

Meghan McCain and her relationship with Joy Behar

One constant person McCain feuds with is Behar. The show’s longest-serving co-host is on the opposite side of politics from McCain which leads to fiery debates. Things have gotten so tense that people think they have a bad relationship, which according to McCain it’s not true.

“It really hurts my feelings!” McCain said on Entertainment Tonight of reports there is bad blood between her and Behar. “It genuinely hurts my feelings because our dressing rooms are next door to each other and you and I have the same emotional reaction to things — sometimes in different ways — but we’re both upset equally, the equal amount of the same things. And I wish people would give us a break, for real.”

With the presidential election less than a year away, the tensions are going to rise on the “Hot Topics” table. The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. CT/PT.
