When Does ‘The View’ Return To ABC Live For Season 23?
The View has been in reruns for the last couple of weeks and that is because the ABC News program is on a summer hiatus. Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the panel took some time off from their sizzling Hot Topics table to reenergize and come back reinvigorated to talk about everything around Donald Trump and the White House.

When does ‘The View’ premiere Season 23?
The ladies of The View have been missing out on Trump’s latest antics, the stock market’s rollercoaster behavior and the G7 Summit, to name a few Hot Topics. Fans are truly missing their take on these pressing issues as the show has become incredibly political in the last years.
For now, viewers have been treated to reruns from the past season but fret not as Season 23 is set to return live on Tuesday, September 3 just after we celebrate Labor Day. The group will come back to the table and start debating on everything they missed talking about during their break and take on the day’s issues.
Will all ‘The View’ co-hosts return?
Currently, the panel stands as follows: Goldberg as the moderator, Joy Behar, Abby Huntsman, Sunny Hostin, Meghan McCain and Ana Navarro on Friday’s. All ladies are set to return for Season 23, even Huntsman who was away due to maternity leave for the last couple of months.
There was speculation that McCain’s future on the daytime talker was not certain and the 34-year-old daughter of the late Senator John McCain was felling “exhausted and defeated,” according to a report by The Daily Beast.
“It’s getting to the point where it’s not worth the emotional toll every week,” a friend of McCain told the publication requesting anonymity. “If she doesn’t stay at The View, she will find other work.”
Senior Executive Producer on the show, Hilary Estey McLoughlin, said that no one on The View wants McCain to leave.
“We don’t want people to attack Meghan. We’re happy to have Meghan there,” McLoughlin told The Daily Beast. “I think she does want to be there. I think she wants to be on the show. She realizes it’s a very good platform for her and we love having her there. I feel like she will come back.”
Is Meghan McCain returning to ‘The View’?
After The Daily Beast report, a source told Page Six that McCain was still “in talks and would like to return [to The View].”
“There are some things that need to change. Meghan feels constantly attacked,” the insider told the publication.
There were rumors that the conservative pundit blamed leaks on fellow co-host Hostin.
“They believe there are eyewitnesses and texts that can corroborate this,” a source told Page Six.
Following the new allegations, Senior Executive Producer McLoughlin told the site: “I don’t think Sunny is the leak. I don’t think anyone who is working on the show could be that overtly doing something that’s potentially problematic for their own careers.”
A spokesperson for ABC News also issued the following statement: “As evident on The View, Sunny, an award-winning journalist and former federal prosecutor, never holds back and freely shares any and all opinions she has. She’s been a terrific addition to the table, a fierce and passionate advocate who brings smart and insightful analysis to every debate and discussion on the show. It’s been an incredible season, and we look forward to having her at the co-host table for an epic year ahead.”
There have been no new rumors about McCain’s return or departure from The View, but with a revolving door of co-hosts, anything is possible. Let’s all remember that Jedediah Bila returned to the table in the fall of 2017, only to leave shortly after and have her seat filled by McCain.
