‘The Voice’: Cassadee Pope Talks Gwen Stefani Leaving the Show Saying It’s ‘Really Demanding’
Stefani hasn’t said much about her decision to leave the show again. However, Cassadee Pope gave a possible reason why she isn’t signing on for another season. Find out what she said and more.
Gwen Stefani replaced Adam Levine for season 17
Adam Levine made the shocking decision to not return to The Voice for season 17. It was then announced that Stefani would return to fill his seat.
Stefani talked about Shelton missing his friend. “It was funny to watch Blake without Adam; he was definitely off at first, he was off, like, ‘What’s happening? Nobody’s really messing with me much…’ Kelly definitely messes with him,” she told Extra.
She has made sure to give him a hard time this season. “I like to mess with him, too, ’cause it’s fun,” said Stefani. “It always feels good to beat Blake — he’s the O.G.”
The season is still early and the coaches have finished building their teams. We will have to wait and see who will win. But we already know Stefani won’t be returning next season.
Nick Jonas will replace Stefani next season
It looks like Stefani’s return is only for one season. It has been announced that Nick Jonas will be replacing her next season.
Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend made him a video to welcome him on the show. “Nick Jonas! How you doin’, buddy? I heard that you’re going to be a new coach on The Voice and I wanted to say congratulations I guess,” said Shelton.
Legend said, “Our mission is to destroy Blake Shelton. We have to form an alliance. Me, you, Kelly.” Jonas reacted to this video with Ellen DeGeneres.
“I am so excited about this,” he said. “You’re basically the first people I’ve told, so thank you for being a part of this special moment for me.”
This news was still surprising to fans who were happy to see Stefani back. However, a former winner talked about why it makes sense that she would decide to leave again.
Cassadee Pope said the show is really demanding
The season 3 winner talked about the latest news that had to do with The Voice. She talked about why Stefani probably stepped away from being a coach again.
“I think everybody at some point has to decide either or,” she told PopCulture.com. “I know The Voice is really demanding and there’s two seasons a year. I think if you wanna focus on something else and really focus on it full time, that’s probably a good decision.”
Pope talked about Stefani’s specific situation. “I think that’d be a little hard to be in Vegas half the time and L.A. the other half shooting The Voice, so that makes sense,” she said.
This certainly isn’t the first time the show’s schedule has been given as a reason for a celebrity to leave the show. Levine recently talked about enjoying having more time with his family after he quit. Fans will have to wait for next season to see how things will change with Jonas.
