‘The Voice’: How Does Newcomer John Legend Feel About Adam Levine Leaving the Show?
All good things must come to an end, and that includes Adam Levine’s time on NBC’s hit show The Voice.
The news of Levine’s exit was announced last Friday.
“Adam is one of the original coaches that launched the show, winning the competition three times and inspiring many of the artists that he worked so closely with,” Voice host Carson Daly said on the Today show. “Many viewers will miss his frenemy relationship with Blake Shelton. He will always be a cherished member of the Voice family and of course we wish him nothing but the best.”
Who will be replacing Levine?
Shortly after announcing Levine’s exit, Daly revealed who would be taking over the singer’s judge’s chair.
“I am happy to share that Gwen Stefani will be returning for season 17,” he said. “She met her current boyfriend, Blake Shelton, through the show. Excited to have her back.”

“Yeah, we’re sad to see him go,” Legend told Entertainment Tonight. “We are very sad, and he’s been a part of the show since the beginning, 16 seasons. He’s been so important to the show even existing, so we’re all going to miss him.”
How does Kelly Clarkson feel?
Kelly Clarkson, who has stepped in an out as a judge on the show several times, told Extra that she knew about Levine leaving a bit before the public.
“I found out the night before everybody else found out,” she said. “I was texting him and everybody else.”
Though she wasn’t happy about the news, she was understanding.
“It was kind of a shocking thing,” she continued. “But I kind of get it. He’s been doing it for eight years — that’s a long time. He’s got a couple kids. Still has a career. Still touring. It’s a very rigorous schedule fitting everything in.”
“It’ll be weird going to work. ‘Where’s Adam?’ But I totally get how busy it is trying to fit everything in plus having a family.”
When news broke of his departure, she tweeted out her feelings.
“Found out last night about Adam leaving The Voice & while I get that he’s been doing the show 4 a while & wants to step away, it will be weird showing up 4 work & he’s not there,” she tweeted. “To start an amazing show from the ground up is a big deal!”
