‘The Voice’: Proof There Was Never a Feud Between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton
There are two types fans of The Voice. The first type is the people that tune in every week to see talented artists make beautiful music and compete against each other. The other type of fan watches the show for the 8-year on-screen bromance between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
At times this strange — and sometimes inappropriate — relationship seems to be more frenemies than best friends forever. There has even been a lot of speculation as to whether they were even friends in the first place.
All the recent talk about the two singers having a long-standing feud hasn’t seemed to go away. Now with the abrupt news that Levine is not coming back for season 17, many are trying to fuel rumors of discord being the reason. We disagree altogether. In fact, we have proof that there was never a feud between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, to begin with.
The strange way Adam Levine and Blake Shelton show their love
From the very beginning of The Voice, long before the first episode was even taped, Levine and Shelton were a bonded pair. In an interview, Levine told People, “I remember when I saw him at the meeting at NBC, I was instantly very taken by him. He was not a cookie-cutter guy, and the second we met, we were friends.”
On the show, Levine and Shelton have shared more than their fair share of looks. Most of which have made even diehard fans a little uncomfortable.
There have also been dozens of hugs, a million compliments, and even a kiss or two — or three. Yeah, it’s a little weird, but like many bromances, some things are better left alone. They might fight a lot on and off the show, but we think it looks a lot like the relationship two brothers would have. Then again, some siblings and friends are also frenemies. They have both even talked about being as close as brothers. How did these feud-rumors start in the first place if they’re so close?
Rumors suggest Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are secretly frenemies
Chances are that most of the rumors started from people that aren’t really fans of The Voice or the two judges. On screen, they are competing to have the best singers on their team. Levine and Shelton have thrown each other under the bus from time to time, but all in good fun. Off-screen, they are also pranksters.
Of course, there was the time Shelton tweeted Levine’s real phone number to all his followers. This was seen by some to be a blatant slap in the face and safety risk. The Maroon 5 frontman had to get a new number, and honestly, it was kind of funny. He didn’t see it coming.
No worries though, Levine got back at Shelton with a big prank of his own. It involved his big red truck and a lot of manure. If you haven’t seen the video yet, check it out.
The truth is that they have been exchanging insults, and pranks from the beginning, and we know that won’t stop when Levine leaves the show.
Proof there was never a feud between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton
If you are still thinking Levine and Shelton are frenemies in real life, prepare to be let down. We have proof that there was never a feud between the coaches.
According to Us Weekly, Shelton considers Levine to be a best friend. “He’s one of the best friends that I have, but I still want to kill him sometimes,” Shelton said about Levine. “We’re those two guys you knew in high school where we have this bond that is unexplainable…”
In an Instagram post that announced his departure from The Voice, Levine wrote, “And, BLAKE FUCKIN’ SHELTON. I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously, I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, I’m just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life.”
In response to the post, Shelton said it was going to be strange with him gone. Their friendship seemed to come out of nowhere, but it also made great TV. They’re both in the entertainment industry, and for the last 16 seasons, we were entertained even if we weren’t sure what we were seeing.
